When it rains it pours. Rough episode for virtually every character. Obviously feel for the kids the most but Bubbles, Carv, Dennis, Bunny, and Carcetti. Yikes. Big one next week :)

and here we go Sherrod dies and it’s on Bubs. Randy gets firebombed. Dookie loses Mr Prezbo and has to go live with Michael. Omar robs the entire cities reup. Namond finally breaks and faces up to the reality of who he really is. Lester pulls down a piece of plywood. Cutty gets shot in the leg twice trying to fix his relationship with Michael who has to leave him lying in the gutter in order to not appear weak. Herc finallly has to answer for being the sorriest excuse for a police in Baltimore and we finish with his partner walking down the hall being berated by the child he completely failed to protect. Greek tragedies don’t come this Tragic and we got the finale to go.

That Randy-Carver scene at the hospital is rough every time I watch this series. Michael is kind of like Anakin Skywalker, he turned to the dark side, but he seems to still have some good left in him. The security guard that tells Carcetti that the mayor will see him, was the former republican governor of Maryland.

Namond telling Carver and Dennis (Cutty) that he can't be like his father... "It just ain't in me..." That's what Dennis said to Avon when he got out of the game. Love that parallel. Dennis knows all the sides of it; he got himself out, now he tries to allay the dangerous escalating conflict between the boys -- and gets shot for it. 😞

The whole episode is absolutely brutal, but that Randy scene is one of the hardest for me to watch in this series.

Cheese's rant to Prop Joe is a rare ray of sunshine in this miserable episode. "He even had this one hoe, pullin guns out her pussy unc. The shit was unseemly, man." 😂 Of course they slip it in right after Randy's house gets firebombed, but never mind that...

It's so sadly ironic that Cutty's (admittedly foolhardy) response to Monk finally seems to win Michael over, but it's a day late and a dollar short. At this point, Michael is in too deep with the Stanfield crew, and him waiting with Cutty would have probably led to all kinds of questions (he's already known for standing with accused snitch Randy).

Next week you get your extra 20 minutes it’s an 80 minute finale.

I think this might be the best episode of the show. I love S2 to death and in many ways it's a personal favorite of mine. This is next level. I can't wait for the finale

Not sure if you guys caught it from last week, but finding dirt on Herc in order to fire him was Burrell's solution to making both the cops and the ministers happy. Carcetti didn't want to fire Herc over the public scandal, so he found another way to do it. It was a play by Burrell to make himself useful to Carcetti.

I'm not positive but I think the body that Lester, Bunk, and McNulty were looking at after they left the bar was the security guard that gave Marlo shit for stealing candy, which would be kind of strange since Lester had just mentioned that security guard and said he didn't think it was one of Marlo's killings because he didn't fit the profile of the other victims.

I'm not sure, I didn't catch the uniform. If it was him, maybe with the badge missing (literally outside on the ground somewhere), a drunk Lester might have just missed the connection?

Once again we hear of the political importance of Odell Watkins and his connection to the city's black Ministers... I love when the old Deacon comes to see him, Odell immediately gives him the side-eye, like what the hell do you need this time :)
