That’s not the National Cathedral (either the inside or the outside, which I guess might have been two different filming locations). I don’t know where they filmed it, but probably in-universe the funeral would have been at a Catholic church since Leo was Catholic, iirc. This is such a great farewell episode, especially when you consider it’s entirely “extra” - however they broke the season originally, they had to cut something or consolidate things in order to dedicate a whole episode to Leo.

It's not too bad (wouldn't worry about trying to fix it) but your audio has a bit more echo than usual today, FYI. Noticed it on Gilmore Girls too.

Here's a great clip I saw the other day from "Mom", starring Allison Janney. If you don't know the show, she plays a former alcoholic/drug addict (as usual, she is great in this show!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSFnPTckJbA

Martin Sheen makes me tear up so much from now until the last credits. His sorrow lifting the caskets just absolutely breaks my heart. He and John were friends almost as long as Leo and Bartlett. I can't imagine how hard filming this episode was for the cast.

Hey guys, here's a lovely clip from last year of Martin Sheen seeing footage from the show for the first time. It happens early in the video so you don't have to watch the whole thing, but if you do, the rest is spoiler free. https://youtu.be/5mOSPtg2X6I?si=yX_3E-Aij2ZtBPSn

great episode, I remember watching these episode for the first time when I was 15, they handled John Spencer's passing - Leo so beautifully. TV at it's best.

Can't wait to see what you think of the cold open next week :)

Stockhard Channing had been great friends with John S. too. One of her best friends actually.

For some reason, the 3rd place speaker candidate reminds me of the current speaker of the house...

T-minus four episodes and counting.... Originally airing on April 16, 2006, 'Requiem' is Episode 18 of Season 7 of The West Wing. It is the 151st episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.8, placing it as the #3 ranked episode of this season and #19 out of all the episodes shown so far.

The reveal that Danny and CJ finally 'got together' the day of/after Leo's death (if he died Tuesday night or very early Wednesday morning, and she came to Danny Wednesday night?) was such an interesting choice in my opinion, and surprisingly fits so well with her and that guy she knew from highschool in The Long Goodbye. I love Danny and CJ's ability to have that flirtatious banter even after a funeral though, no matter how bittersweet.
