That was fun. Thank you guys for a great reaction to one of my favorite movies. Hopefully more Cary Grant to come soon.

Leslie Caron's breakout role was An American in Paris in 1951 and she was in Gigi in 1958 and Chocolat in 2000

This is one of mom’s favorites so happy you guys watched it.

Only Cary Grant could make grumpiness so charming :) Leslie Caron was indeed a classically trained ballerina! She even dances en pointe in An American in Paris. Also – I love how one of the little girls is just wearing a pair of Cary’s pants like overalls, with arm-holes cut where the pockets would be. So cute!

Since you mentioned Bob Newhart you might want to check out Hell is for Heroes (1962) a war movie starring g Steve McQueen that he has a supporting part in and is definitely not a comedy.

Cary Grant retired acting in 1966 after the birth of his daughter Jennifer Grant and died in 1986.

Peter Stone one of the films co-writers was the writer on Charade.

Another movie with Trevor Howard to check out is Von Ryan’s Express (1965) with Frank Sinatra a WW2 prison escape movie involving a train.

I didn't get the reference- Bob Newhart died in July 2024- over a year ago and the comment made it sound like it was a couple of days ago???

Jennifer

Cary Grant wanted Audrey Hepburn for this, but she was already committed to My Fair Lady.
