Although MB tackles an important subject, the historical inaccuracies give me more pause. I’m under no illusion that The Favourite doesn’t take liberties, but the consequences don’t feel as problematic to me.

Mississippi Burning is a film clearly based on real events, where when you find out afterwards how much of it is actually fiction, you are quite flabbergasted. The Favourite is a film clearly based in fiction, where when you find out afterwards how much of it is actually based on real events, you are quite flabbergasted. But whichever might be the "better film", mostly I just want to see you react to The Favourite, it is definitely the more surprising and unpredictable film.
