Oh man that whole Drusilla sequence, from the church confessional to the present-day scene after, is just soooo good. Juliet Landau was fantastic, and really gets to shine in this finale. So does composer Christophe Beck (now a Hollywood fixture), who won the Emmy for this very substantial double-episode score. No matter what anyone says, I love the Angel flashbacks, completely. A million fans need badly to get past the accent issue already... so much needless distraction from what's truly important. Few actors EVER satisfy when it comes to dialect; it's time to get over it.

I love that we finally get to see how powerful Drusilla really is. She single-handedly could take on a slayer and kill her with ease. Despite her initial weakness and continued insanity she has now been shown to be extremely intelligent and cunning, deadly in combat, capable of hypnosis, has some kind of visions like Buffy, and capable of being a terrifying force all on her own without Spike or Angel. She is so much more powerful than most of the other vampires despite being relatively young (~150 years) and shares the same kind of visions as Buffy albeit more powerful. Because of this I have always theorized Drusilla may have been meant to have been the slayer of her generation but was turned before she was called. It would explain the visions and why she is so much stronger and smarter than other vampires. Idk if it’s true but it’s my personal head canon.

Just popping in to say that I work overnights (11pm-7am), and it takes immense willpower to get out of bed at 9pm every night. However, on Wednesday nights i will gladly wake up at 8pm so i can watch the new buffy reaction 😊 it's been fun!

Oh the accent doesn't actually bother me (maybe it would if I was Irish), and I do actually love the flashbacks to his past.

That’s a really cool head canon that I haven’t heard before. And I’ve been hearing Buffy head canons since people wrote them on Geocities pages linked by webrings. It’s rare to come across a really fresh Buffy take!

Man, Kendra's death always bums me out, but it does also show how well developed these characters are that I can feel so strongly about someone who's barely been in the show. Buffy's slow-mo run gives me chills every time.

Can someone tell me whether this is the first time the musical theme at the end of the episode plays out in full? Because it's been teased throughout the season, but I don't think we've heard the whole of it before this episode. The slow motion run was masterfully done. I really wish they didn't kill Kendra so quickly. We spent 2 episodes getting to know her, and then they killed her after one more short appearance. I guess it keeps viewers on their toes.

Kendra we hardly knew ye. This episode was my first intro to the show (official airdate) while visiting my cousins. Was hooked ever since. Spoilers.

One thing that's a little fun trivia about this episode, gules asks the museum guy if he's sent a sample of the tomb to be carbon dated, but since it's stone and doesn't contain carbon 14, any results they get will be wonky and very inaccurate (even before they get into the acathla of it all). Can't carbon date stones!

Spike is sooo good in this one ! "No, you ninny. She read it in the morning paper." "It is a big rock. I can't wait to tell my friends. They don't have a rock this big." (this one is a very very famous hilarious one !) "Someone is not worthy !"

Museum guy is my cousin. Technically, ny dad's cousin. He's had 1 episode of basically everything in the 90s. The drop the watch in the pothole episode of Seinfeld to Murphy Brown shops for baby food to delivers a refrigerator? to Roseanne. He had some bigger roles too. Jack MGee. Anyway, it thrilled me to have my family member appear in the Buffyverse
