Such a fantabulous episode! Kinda encapsulates everything I love bout this show & season. All the interconnected complex evolving relationships. Think this episode is where things really show how the characters are shifting headed for the finale. IMO - Haley's storyline is one of the best LGBT coming of age storylines ever put to screen. The writers & actors did a great job. Think this was her first real role too! The scene where Donna's kinda breaking a little while singing & driving. Just splendid! This show was criminally underviewed/rated! Josh Whedon's younger brother Zach is one of the writers on this show. He'll pen one of the best episodes of the entire series coming up. Not gonna spoil it but it'll be impossible not to notice the similarities (concept not structure).

Sometimes I get caught up in nostalgia when I watch this show & have to rewatch episodes because I have missed the actual story. I don't know who the members of the art department were for this show but they nail the period even if I can't always pinpoint the year. As someone who turned 18 in 1994 I can say with 100% certainty that the drinking age had been raised to 21 nationwide by then. (In 1983, my home state of NC raised the age to 19 for beer & wine & 21 for liquor. Then in 1986 raised it to 21 for all alcohol.) I have no idea where we're headed. I love that this show always seems to surprise me. I'm glad that for the most part everyone has come clean with the secrets they've been keeping from each other & I'm looking forward to seeing what's next.

I don't think there has ever been a show that explores the complexity of interpersonal relationships like this show. And don't even get me started on the soundtrack. Best soundtrack of any media ever, IMO. They hired an actual music nerd for sure. The official Spotify playlists for each character are SO GOOD. I am so grateful that you decided to react to this show. It has been so nice experiencing for the first time again vicariously. THANK YOU!
