Actuarial Lurker

Kevin- This episode struck me for how pathetic Junior has become....a mere parody and for the emergence of Phil as the NY Boss

Actuarial Lurker

This was Phil Abraham's directorial debut- important given his role in working on Mad Men....it also is the acting debut of Lin-Manuel Miranda of Hamilton- he plays the Bellman

Love the scenes with Beansie, a great choice to bring back; old-school guy who knew Johnny Boy and everyone since the early days. Sensible perspective on Paulie, telling Tony "you're all he's got." Tension ramped up to 11 on the boat (love the heavy rocking), but Paulie passes the test: refusing to admit he told John S. the joke, means he'll stand up when it really counts.

Hard to watch Junior's decline, though Chianese is great as always. I wonder, if they hadn't stuffed so much into Season 1 (not knowing if the show had a future, odd as that now seems), maybe a less quick pace could have allowed us more of Junior before his arrest. His feistiness was stifled too soon.
