Omg, you guys are doing B99. I feel like it's christmas come early. You'll now have the joy of watching one of my favorite sitcom characters of all time, Captain Raymond Holt.

Cooool... coolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcool

RIP Andre Braugher. Check out the story behind his casting, really wholesome stuff

The only thing I had ever seen Andre Braugher prior to B99 was a short lived series called ‘The Last Resort’ where he played the captain of a nuclear powered submarine. I watched that show initially because of my ever lasting love of Scott Speedman but Andre Braugher in it was a true revelation! That show was..whatever..however Andre Braugher made me a fan for life…I was so glad to see him in the role of Captain Holt..a truly iconic character! So glad he got his well deserved and past overdue flowers before he passed away!

Woah! Crazy good pick for your next show!

The lady who just keeps shopping while the cops are running around is so funny to me bc ive worked in a grocery store for 12 years, and the amount of people who are just oblivious is astounding. Between dozens of power outages and a literal dumpster fire that all caused a need for people to leave the building, people simply only care about themselves. When the power was out and not a single light, cooler/freezer, or register worked, people didn't understand why we couldn't check them out. During dumpster was on fire, people were still trying to buy cakes, one customer even saying he "just needed a small one though" 🙄 too real 😂

Andre was nervous about doing a comedy but they said the wrote the role for him and were envisioning his Homicide character when they wrote it except they made him gay so for the pilot that’s what he did just did his lines like it was a Homicide script, until he got a rhythm to make Holt his own character. The tie thing was even an in joke for the Homicide fans

Kirsten Stewart

OMG I am so excited you’re doing B99, one of my favourite sitcoms, I’m here for this!!

Logged in out of habit to watch New Girl and remembered it was over only to find another of my favorite shows. Couldn't be more pumped.

SO excited for this, huge comfort show for me. Very little of it is actually shot in Brooklyn or New York at all, but the precinct building in the establishing shots is actually my local police precinct in Brooklyn (the 78th, so yes, there are a lot, though there is not actually a 99th). My go-to bagel spot is next door. It is a lot like New Girl in starting off somewhat tame but getting much more unhinged (in the best way) as it goes.

Oh yay! You guys are going to enjoy this!

I was today years old when I noticed Holt's strict dress code (tie) only applies to the boys. Pretty weird way to create a team uniform. But I love this show. Not one weak performance (Stephanie Beatriz is my favorite) and not one low point in eight seasons, and it ends in a tremendous way when it starts dealing with the real world issues NYPD has.

Yay! Excited to see you watch this! Another classic sitcom you are sure to love.

I just finished up a B99 re-watch but I guess I'm watching it again.

Ohhh another show I can rewatch with you guys!!

Never heard of any of these actors (except the new captain Andre Braugher from Homicide back in the mid 90s and Terry Crews the father of Cagney and Lacey) or even this show since I stopped watching TV about 15 years ago since I was too busy... big fan of old police procedurals and comedies: Barney Miller, Law and Order, SVU, Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue, Homicide but nothing more recent before watching Hannibal with Joe and now this.... I hear from my wife's law enforcement friends that Barney Miller from the 1970s of all things is the most similar to real police work

Jamie Morgan

Oh my god, how did I miss this upload! Along with Buffy and OMITB, you're now concurrently reacting to 3 of my top 10 favourite shows, and you already did The Good Place and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Are you spying on me??? "Does anyone get a little bit of a gay vibe?" There is literally a pride flag in one of the boxes in the very next scene lol.

kosmickrab

Andre Braugher will deliver some of THE funniest moments on this show, all with a stone face. I can't wait til we get to specific ones.

Clare Manion

This was fantastic! I love Andy Samberg, he’s hilarious (ill advised speedo and all). Agreed, all the characters are likable and I absolutely want to see more of them. All the little flashbacks were brilliant. And OMG that last line- hahahaha!

Scott Steiner? I hardly know her!

Completely missed this upload but excited to join for a rewatch of another one of my comfort shows (great timing with The Newsroom just finishing) I do struggle with the ‘copaganda’ of it all when watching this show but the individual performances and group chemistry are what carry this for me, Braugher is unparalleled and greatly missed but Samberg really endeared himself to me over the shows run

Roland

First time watching, that was a great pilot. :)
