Jake and Holt’s relationship is one of the best parts of the show

Without spoiling anything, I will say this: out of all the recent workplace comedies one can think of, The Office and Parks & Rec at the forefront, B99 is by far the most consistent across its 8 seasons. I've never noticed a sudden dip in quality, and it has managed to keep things fresh throughout. You will fall in love with it and the characters... show's got heart. And yeah just gonna echo what you said, but Andre Braugher is amazing on the show. Being able to notice the chemistry so early is also great to see as someone rewatching the show for the first time with you guys. Glad to see you already seem charmed, two episodes in!

Completely echo all of your thoughts at the end. Jake and Holt make an incredible comedic pair

David Milch also did NYPD Blue

It occurs to me it may be challenging to react to this show cause the characters do a lot of the commentary themselves. Constantly self-reflecting and talking about the silly things they do. I had a little chuckle when I noticed how they often agree with your comments a second after. I'm sure you're going to have a good time. :3

This is a delight! This is a first watch for me also, so I don't know anything, but agreed - dorky guy and scary lady definitely have chemistry and I love that.

Im happy you love this as much as it should be loved. My enthusiasm for B99 took a nosedive in 2020, but it is still beloved. Holt and Jake are amazing, but so are any of the other relationships, with the possible exception of Scully and Hitchcock, whom I just don’t get. There are so many amazing guest stars, too! I can’t wait barely wait for you to get to certain episodes! It’s fun to watch you watch this - I have seen it SO many times that I don’t even notice some stuff anymore, but you do - seeing you give real laughs at stuff like the pixelated police cars is a joy!

I truly do not understand where Gina got “sexy” from. I am open to most guy’s looks, however, not only is he an ass but Deputy commissioner Podalski looks like a thumb. Gina clearly doesn’t have the best taste considering her choices in companions this episode…

Stephanie Bedworth

Chelsea Peretti (Gina) also had a small role in Game Night, which I know you guys saw. You'd remember her from the scene where the dumb guy slid bills over to her really, REALLY slowly. LOL

Andre Braugher was also in a handful of episodes of bojack horseman! he played...an important person with a no-nonsense attitude who just wanted to perform his job as best as he could. funny how that works out every time 😂

Jamie Morgan

I remember not being fully hooked by the pilot when it first aired, but this was the episode that got me invested. Instead of constantly being *told* that Peralta is a good detective while only seeing him dick around, we finally get to *see* him be a good detective and his understandably frustrated reaction to a criminal getting away with it. This was the first time I believed that he wasn't a detective just to be cool, but because he genuinely loves justice.
