Will is stabbed the same way in other depictions of this... In this TV version it seems Hannibal selected a non-fatal blow since Will didn't seem to get the Godfather II treatment. Unless the knife hit Will's Abdominal Aorta Hannibal delivered a wound that could be staunched...the intent seems to be incapacitate him and not kill

From what I gather, it sounds like they were unsure whether Season 3 would happen, so maybe they needed to ret-con some things. Fine. I don’t know if I love how they’re doing it, but fine… Agreed, I like that Abigail is dead-for-real this time. Anything else would be absurd, given her injuries. And I don’t know about Jack and Alana, but I hope their stories are reasonable…And again, it feels like there’s some course correction going on, so I’m willing to stick around a while longer to see where it goes. “It has to end well.
