I like Jinx’s look, it’s cool but every time I see her super long braids I can’t help but think about how much of a liability they would be in a fight. In the same vein, they’re really dressing female enforcers in short skirts, thigh high stockings and heels? It’s no wonder Caitlin struggled to parkour down into the undercity.

You know, that's a really good point. Not exactly the best tactical wear for the female enforcers. Kind of an "A League of Their Own" vibe. Also, in the undercity, I would be terrified what long braids like that would pick up. Every single day.

Caitlin’s outfit was obviously designed for the video game audience and not practicality but they could have found a way to give her a more suitable uniform that still appeals to their fan base. Maybe something in leather? Jinx’s braids did look like they were sweeping the floor at times. Pretty gross.

Marcus is corrupt and hates himself for it. I think Silco would see himself as the hero of his own story. He's broadly on the side of the undercity, but that's mostly due to an accident of birth rather than any ideological opposition to oppression and exploitation.

Youtalkingtome

I agree 100% about Silco. He and Vander's relationship to each other (and the world) seems to have some similarity to Xavier and Magneto of X-Men. Both are right in their distrust of the other side, but Silco definitely feels like he needs to fight the battle outright.

That's a good way of summarizing Marcus's character. He wants to be a "good" person and officer, but feels trapped in his arrangement with Silco. Now his prejudice against the undercity is very real, I don't think he even sees that as a flaw; even if he was living up to his own ideals he would still have that. But he does realize the corruption is bad, but doesn't see a way out of it anymore.

I don't think the creators have done a good enough job differentiating between some of the characters, especially with the time jumps / flashbacks. It's very hard to focus on what's happening on-screen when you're also trying to figure out who's who. Some more distinctive art choices would have gone a long way.

There are really only 2 people who look different after the time jump, Jinx and one other person we haven't seen yet. Caitlyn and Vi look mostly the same. I'm assuming you are referencing the scene showing young Caitlyn shooting. They wanted the audience to momentarily be confused by who it was, but that question was quickly answered the second they showed Grayson.

Man you are watching SO MANY high quality shows I know/am discovering also thanks to you. I'm so here for it. Thanks for the awesome genuine reactions - Arcane will continue to blow you away as it continues.

I think Silco is just lucky he found a righteous cause which to attach his completely self-serving lust for power to. Of course, this rigid class society that treats the lanes underclass so poorly would always produce someone like him so you can't entirely blame him for being like that. Oh, ambiguity!

Every impractical bit of character design I see, I just think of that one council member with a collar or large brass gears loudly turning in different directions all the time and think "Oh yeah, videogame."
