This episode is such a turning point for Jake and Holt. I feel like this is the first episode they kinda truly ‘get’ one another. Such a great episode and it shows how this show just gets better and better as it goes on because just like “arrested development” the jokes reach a critical mass of inside jokes and absurd character studies.

Crispy skin on duck breast is a real delicacy. My pet peeve is when people say duck is greasy. It's fatty, very different thing. You lightly score the skin on the breast and cook it skin side down on low heat to slowly render the excess fat out, and a beautiful side effect, the skin gets phenomenally crispy. (i went to culinary school and have boyle's love of food, but hopefully a little less cringe 😂)

This is the first B99 where I've genuinely laughed out loud multiple times. Maybe it's just that summer's starting, but still, felt like the show really getting out of the warmup zone.

Love duck confit personally, just too expensive to make. In my family, we actually eat duck on Christmas (and a regional peppered sausage). That dinner is a highlight every year

Before I turned vegetarian, Peking duck was one of the few meats I actually liked. Peking duck pancakes with cucumber and soy sauce was my favourite treat meal!

Terry Crews has to eat something like 12 meals a day, and they have to be very specific, carefully planned and timed meals. Mostly chicken, trout and broccoli, I believe. You'd think they'd have some consideration for his character's special needs that he would have to maintain that physique, like, at least have people carry protein bars for food emergencies that may arise with the long and unpredictable hours of police work. But then, hungry Terry is funny.
