Great to see Mark McKinney as the sardonic writer who joins the show! (Bringing SNL and Kids In The Hall pedigree.) Wonder what that character thinks of Peripheral Vision Man. 😆 Which, the more I think on it, sound like one of Jesse's childhood drawings on Breaking Bad.

Paul T Hewes

Mark McKinney as the serious comedy writer, Andy, was a great character. He did the sardonic and brutal and totally emotionally crushed by his own tragedy perfectly.

Amanda Peet was pregnant in real life at the time of filming the series, so the pregnancy was written into the series.

Jonathan Eaton

Lucy didn't show much here but she is great. She was the receptionist in the original version of The Office.

Ashley Thomas

i am glad they did the pregnancy reveal because they were NOT doing a good job hiding that she was pregnant. it was i think the two parter where she looked definitely like she had a baby belly, or maybe last episode. i dunno but i was like wow its obvious. then this episode she kept having folders ect in front of her. good they put it in the show. some shows dont and its months of an actor behind a table or a plant or something. i liked this one, and the new character. but i dont think they should have been working on that sketch from the beginning. that hostage situation was going on the whole week while they were writing it. i liked this weeks musician, her voice was pretty.

Jonathan Eaton

It's the complete opposite of the character he played on Superstore.

Paris Hilton got mentioned in 2 reactions tonight. I had the experience of meeting her when she was filming her reality show.

The Nations criticism and Jordan’s responses were taken from an interview about West Wing before it aired. Industry press and NBC executives thought a political drama was a horrible idea until they saw it.

Carl Wilson

Besides being great in the role, Mark McKinney playing Andy is a good inside joke on two levels - one, that although a lot of American viewers might not know it (Kids in the Hall was kind of a niche show), he's actually a hilarious sketch comic rather than this dour straight face; and two, on a more deeply inside level, he is known in the field as a very technically rigorous guy about comedy, who might actually approach writing a sketch with the discipline Andy does here.

Carl Wilson

I laughed harder at the "that's better - everybody just spit at Harriet" line than possibly anything on this show before. Good ep.

Youtalkingtome

I would love to hear what he thinks of Peripheral Vision Man

Youtalkingtome

That's pretty clever actually, glad they didn't try to hide it

Youtalkingtome

Yeah, I was pretty certain Nations was a stand in for WW

Jonathan

A bit smarter and a bit more shy than her tv persona, but what you see on tv is not far off.

Mariska Costeris

Sorkin was clearly missing the politics and news aspects of his other shows so much he keeps trying to cram them into this show.

Kevin L

In 2004 she was shoehorned into a few eps of S1 of Veronica Mars (not playing herself, but c'mon, can she play anything else?) ... Not that her persona didn't fit the show's rich-kid clique, it just felt weird to have her there, clearly to boost ratings.

I take it from both your non-reaction of Mark McKinney, and Joe's non-reaction to Scott Thompson in Hannibal, that you guys are unfamiliar with Kids in the Hall. It's like SNL's deranged little brother (Lorne Michaels produced the show). I haven't seen it in years but I'd be up for a rewatch.

You’re probably recognizing Corinne Bailey Rae’s voice from her biggest hit “Put Your Records On.” She’s got a lovely voice
