Evanescence came along just a bit too late for Buffy, sadly (Fallen was 2003) ... Many fans would have LOVED some kind of collaboration, complete with a killer music video 🖤🦇

Leah W.

It is not the first time we've seen Joyce this season lol. We saw her in the Halloween episode and the first episode of the season. And what a great cliffhanger ending to the episode!

Aside from their shared dream, there was nothing at the end of season three that indicated Faith was primed for a redemption arc. Her last waking moments were Buffy stabbing her and her jumping off a building to prevent her blood healing Angel after she poisoned him. While the dream seems like a real part of her own subconscious, I wouldn't say that means she was on the road to redemption. I think there's always an element of her that is torn about her actions, but she's been very good at shoving down that part of herself.

- [rot13 for spoilers] Abg gur thlf nyzbfg rknpgyl thrffvat va gur vageb ubj jr'er tbvat gb svtug Nqnz! - Yeah, that *is* the hospital, just a basement storage area. I love the cut between Faith talking to the girl and then walking out in her clothes. I assume she wasn't handcuffed to the bed because the doctors assumed she couldn't possibly wake up (because a normal person couldn't). I guess they weren't warned she wouldn't be a normal patient. - Joyce was in the season premiere and the Halloween episode, but only briefly. I love how sassy she is with Faith. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. - LOVE that cliffhanger ending, and how their swapped roles are foreshadowed in Faith's dreams -- casting herself as the hero with Buffy as the villain. - I think the invisible school from the first season was kind of a first stab at what we've got now with the Initiative -- government attempt to corral the supernatural, both for the common good and probably also for their own ends. I don't have a problem imagining that program still exists, likely alongside other programs that deal with other specific supernatural phenomena. - [rot13 for Angel spoilers] Er cerivbhf cnentencu, vg'f rfcrpvnyyl cynhfvoyr tvira ubj pbzzbqvsvrq naq jvqrfcernq fhcreangheny naq qrzbavp npgvivgl vf va Ybf Natryrf ba Natry. Yes, Faith also has prophetic dreams. The dreams in this particular episode really reward series rewatches

Claire Eyles

And a huge congratulations to Eliza Dushku for getting her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental counselling and now working with veterans at Home Base clinic (last I heard). :D

Neill Shaughness

I doubt handcuffs would have held her for long anyway

that girl

Hollywood hacking might as well use magic

Yay! Faith is back. And so is the Mayor. It's interesting how the Mayor can manipulate Faith still after his death. His speech to her on that tape was very doomy gloomy on how Faith has no place in the world. Not what she needed to hear. And, isn't it funny that when Eliza Dushku pops up on our screens we suddenly forget all about Adam?? And yes, both Faith and Buffy have prophetic dreams, and they might give information about the future.

Carl Wilson

Faith is 1000 times more interesting than Adam. Maybe the writers will forget all about him too and we'll just hear in a few episodes that he fell in a volcano or something. Curiosity killed the cat!

Carl Wilson

Of course the Watchers' Council would have somebody watching Faith. It's right there in the name. And of course they would completely mess it up.

Carl Wilson

The doctors didn't think she would ever wake up and I'm sure they would have looked askance at the idea of handcuffing someone in a coma.

James B.

Saw a good example of why the HD transfer is kind of reviled. You can see a camera man when Buffy and Faith tumble down the stairs. 4:3 for life!

Joseph Irizarry

Haha you really want an Insivible school. Who knows where it is? Demons and monsters are all over the world in this universe… there is just always more activity around a Hellmouth

Gail Hislop

Riley-'Do you think we're being watched?' Buffy:'I don't know, does the Initiative do that?' Um well, I hate to tell you both but Professor Walsh sure did and you'd want to hope that she didn't save the tapes of you two in Riley's room !

Chris Warner

Great to see the mayor again and even in death he is still the abusive partner continuing to make sure his victim is isolated from anyone who could show her compassion and telling her that she is worthless without him.

Tara

I am def a demon 😈

Jamie Morgan

Willow thumping Faith with her backpack never fails to make me laugh - she really hates that bitch!

Erica

So glad you skipped the recap - it was basically 2 minutes of "hey remember faith? The other slayer? The one who went rogue? Who buffy stabbed? And now she's in a coma? You remember?" 😂

Michael Barrett

I don't think it's spoilery to say - next episode, Sarah Michelle is *PHENOMENAL*, and we see Eliza doing great work as well. I always wonder how actors prepare for these kind of stories.

Kirsten Stewart

Yay, Faith is back!! I love this character and Eliza is fantastic in this role. I appreciate the show giving us a ‘dark’ slayer to contrast Buffy and demonstrate how different things could have been for our girl if she didn’t have the support group around her. The writers could have made Faith a one-note villain, however, like with all the characters they’ve created someone with depth and shades of grey. I’ve been waiting for this one and the next for a bit now, love them !!

Youtalkingtome

I loved it! Especially when she hits her and wisely immediately retreats. So funny!

Youtalkingtome

I hate how spoilery show recaps are. "Gee, I wonder if this plotline or character from several episodes ago appearing in the recap will make an appearance here."

Suzanne Whyte

I was just coming to post the news. Absolutely heartbreaking. He was such a great actor who really elevated every show he was in but I truly love him as Giles.

aleidascope

This really hit me hard just now. He was one of my favourite actors, I watched and listened to *a lot* of his stuff over the years, and at age 72 he is gone much to soon. This kinda feels like Alan Rickman all over again.

vala p

Breathtakingly sad

vala p

Eliza and Sarah are amazing? Must be a day that ends in Y.

vala p

Ive been waiting for this one since this channel stared recapping, can't believe I let this stay up for a whole day with out watching it.

Youtalkingtome

It is really interesting. I really wanna see more of that dynamic. Almost like an evil Obi Wan situation

Youtalkingtome

LMAO. Let's hope there's not a secret file of that somewhere

Youtalkingtome

They really do bounce well off one another. Great chemistry

Gail Hislop

😂😂 yeh that could be bad for everyone concerned! That was so creepy of her
