Wow, you really nailed it in the outro about the mob going into the money making business. In the 90s I was lead programmer for an insurance company founded by Al Capone's top lawyer. The lawyer had 3 sons. One went into Chicago politics. One ran a bank. And one ran their insurance company. Eventually, the politician wrote a book calling himself Chicago's most admittedly corrupt politician, and the government took away the bank. But the insurance company is now the country's largest privately held family owned insurance company.

That's nuts! I definitely feel like that's where we are headed this season: there is more money in legitimate banking than all American crime families combined.

Totally agreed - one of the most fascinating aspects of this season is watching the old style of mob activity shift into a more modern, corporate -like thing. And yes - soul crushing for everyone involved. It does feel like Rabbi is positioned to be a tragic figure with a tragic end…although, there’s also a possibility that both sides come to trust him, and he skates through. Maybe. The trophy closet was wild - little worried that we focused in on the bottle of laudanum. I think that might be the next Chekhov’s poison. (It’s an opiate… I only know these things because they’ve been mentioned in other movies, I swear! lol)
