Mathilde

If it's not scheduled before then, I'd love to see A Little Princess. Not exactly a Christmas movie but it has cozy vibes that fit well with winter. Not on your list yet: Scrooged

Toc

Laurel & Hardy in "March Of The Wooden Soliders" (also known as "Babes In Toyland") 1934.

Allison O

While You Were Sleeping’s time has come!

Onno Smits

The Holiday (2006) is great! 😃👍

Nihidea

Seconding Scrooged, and idk if you're at all familiar with the Discworld but Hogfather is my favourite holiday watch. It is a two-parter though (made for TV, twice 90 mins)

two pennies no waiting

The Last Holiday (2006) White Christmas (1954) Babes in Toyland (1961) Babes in Toyland (1986) Completely different from each other in plot and production, could be a fun double feature.

two pennies no waiting

Haha I suggested the 1961 and 1986 babes in toyland! I'll have to watch this one.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation One Magic Christmas [The most fucked up Disney Christmas movie.] The Preacher’s Wife

Patrick

🎄 The Family Man (2000)🎄 Nic Cage, Tea Leoni, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Piven. Underrated Christmas movie

Maddy D.

Deck the Halls is a GREAT Christmas comedy. Kristen chenowith, Danny diveto and Matthew Broderick

Christmas in Connecticut (1945) — light-hearted Barbara Stanwyck comedy Boyfriend For Christmas (2004) — Rom/Com with chemistry between leaders (and a guy — played by Patrick Muldoon, who died of a heart attack this year on April 16 at 57 years young — whom men want to be and women want to be with) A California Christmas (2020) — city man-child undercover on a farm Silver Bells (2013) — unique focus on the spirit of Christmas The Spirit of Christmas (2015) — A Christmas ghost story that has nothing to do with Ebenezer Scrooge for a change. A Christmas Carol (1951) — The best of all Ebenezer Scrooge movies (where Scrooge isn’t dumb or senile or nearly insane).

Statmanjeff

It would be high time you guys reviewed a Shirley Temple movie -- the child actress who saved a movie studio.

Any movie can be a holiday movie if you try hard enough.

Hooper

A Muppet Family Christmas, though technically a TV special, is possibly the best Muppet content that exists. Because ownership of various Muppets has split over the years, it's not really officially available anywhere, but it's been intact on YouTube for many years.

seth e.

Arthur Christmas (2011) please please please

seth e.

the Nativity episode of the Goes Wrong show from 2020 had my whole family gasping and crying with laughter! it's a British show where they do 30 ish minute plays but everything Goes Wrong

Cosmic Slice

White Christmas - one of the best holiday movies ever made. Also consider The Bells of St. Mary's and It's a Wonderful Life

I🖤Kraken

Oh. Mah. Gaw. Yes. This is the only answer!

I🖤Kraken

Stephanie's right. Absolutely, positively, Mixed Nuts!

Emptysea93

“Violent Night” would be a good break from the normal slog of Xmas films

The Preacher's Wife is soooo good. Courtney B Vance is the overlooked Sterling K Brown of his generation.

Peggy G

We've been waiting soooo long, I feel. I can't wait for their reaction to one scene: 🗞️

Allison O

We always end up with the version with that announcement for an upcoming news program over the end credits . . . if you’ve seen it you know the one I mean

two pennies no waiting

I'm dreaming they'll watch White Christmas, with every Christmas poll they post.

two pennies no waiting

I'm going to put a last holiday reaction in my possibilities book lol

Biff McKeldin

A Christmas Carol (aka Scrooge), 1951 starring Alastair Sim, directed by Brian Desmond-Hurst. This is far and away the best screen adaptation of Dickens' novella!

Rob Bob

Prancer!

Peter's Friends!! Do Peter's Friends! It's a New Year's movie! I hope it at least makes it into a poll. I'm probably buying Calendar Girls for January, but Peter's Friends was my other option. It won't win, but at least put it on a poll, please! Of the options people are recommending here, While You Were Sleeping is so delightful and just the right amount of unhinged.

Kris In PA

And may all their Christmases be white 🎄🎶

Violent Night Love Actually Arthur Christmas (animation)

acidnova

Looks like someone already bought The Holiday. It's on the schedule of upcoming movies.

acidnova

I see a lot of people requesting "The Holiday" in the comments. Someone already bought that one recently and it's on the list of upcoming movies. Just thought I'd mention that so you all can look forward to that one already :)

dys

The 1995 Cuarón version is already on the list FWIW

Mathilde

Yes, I'm just looking to move it up the schedule if it wasn't planned earlier.

Liv Heskett

If yall want something different there is a proshots of the nutcracker ballet at Lincoln center starin Macaulay Culkin and I think Kevin Kline does the narration. I feel like it would be so interesting to see you see storytelling through mostly movement and music. Also it’s a holiday staple!

rtt143

The family stone

John Marnell

If you plan to put together a holiday movie poll, keep Anna And The Apocalypse in mind for it. Very fun Christmas Zombie Musical.

Paul Komoroski

It's awesome that people have bought enough movies for you two to be scheduling that far out!

vala p

Watch out for that patch of ice!

If you like the Family Stone (how could anyone not!?) you may also enjoy the Happiest Season on Hulu. Similar vibes.

Actuarial Lurker

Joe and Kevin- I believe you said that both of you have seen "Bad Santa". If not, then would love to have this wonderfully offensive film grace our screens during the Holidays...

Katik

Last Christmas (2019) ! It's a great movie!

Koko

Love actually! Or The last unicorn 😥 Or the classic: Home alone 😉

fire12wife

I purchased two Christmas movies last year, so I'mma just stay out of it this year and give everyone else a chance to buy theirs! Plus, I don't think there's ever been a Christmas film I didn't like. I'm sure I'll love whatever ones you end up watching... except for scary ones! I don't do scary movies! lol

BrummaGen

I'm glad your post mentioned December, and thus reminded me that by 'holiday movie' you mean Christmas (or other winter festival) film. As a Brit, 'holiday' makes me think of summer holidays as the strongest association. And if we're talking about Christmas films, I think there's another cultural difference in what we regard as a Christmas film (or maybe its just me). Certainly in my childhood, when you only got to see films in the cinema or when TV channels aired them, there were very few Christmas themed films, but a Christmas film was whatever was on the TV over the 2 weeks or so around Christmas and New Year. These would be old favourites, suitable for family viewing, but not necessarily having anything to do with Christmas, winter etc. You could always guarantee that White Christmas would be shown, and Its a Wonderful Life. But also The Sound of Music, or The Great Escape, or Wizard of Oz. Probably from the 80s onwards when videos came along, then streaming, viewing habits have changed, but I still see the Christmas break as a great time for catching up with or rewatching old classics , without any necessary Christmas connection.

Good news! One of the patrons purchased this movie and it's already on the list.

The Last Unicorn is already on their channel! I never considered that a Christmas movie, but I do love it... I actually got to see it in the theater when it came out in 1982!

Suzanne Whyte

I also class the Great Escape as a Christmas movie for this reason. Oliver! Is coming up on the watchlist soon and that’s another one that I always watched during the Christmas holidays.

Nannette

Klaus (it's so damn sweet, please watch it)

Nannette

Oh I still have the NYC ballet company Nutcracker vhs featuring Macaulay Culkin. Would watch it every Christmas growing up <3

Yankee Veg

Anna and the Apocalypse is a fun one!

The Last Holiday

Barbara Panigot

I second The Spirit of Christmas 2015! My favorite Christmas romance.

Barbara Panigot

I second this! And how can you go wrong with Sam Elliott?

Barbara Panigot

Any version of A Christmas Carol would be good. A Muppet Christmas Carol is excellent. Prancer (1989) has been mentioned in the comments. That's good too. And The Spirit of Christmas (2015). I watch it every year.
