Congrats again on over 400, awesome 400 video, and thank you two again for everything! Kevin, you talked about the origins and meaning of the channel--yay for smaller movies and shows, too--and I'm wondering if there's already a video about how you two met?

Youtalkingtome

No, there isn't. We just worked together part-time and had super awesome time-killer conversations about movies.

Tyler Explains It All

This musical is one of my favorites. It still makes me cry and I've seen it many times.

Tyler Explains It All

Caissie Levy just won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a musical in 2026 for Ragtime. She deserved that Tony. I got to see her as Elsa in Frozen. The first time was the pre-Broadway run in Denver in 2017 and then again on Broadway in 2019. She was the best Elsa (sorry Idina). She is also Canadian.

- This *was* on Broadway first, but this was the first London cast. I got to see it with the original cast (or most of it -- I think the actor playing Gabriel was a replacement) at the Booth Theater in NYC. (Fun fact: that's the theater where Bartlet & his entourage go to see the play at the end of season 3 of The West Wing.) - My God, this is such an emotional deep plunge! So many overwhelming moments, but the reveal that the dad has been seeing Gabriel too and grieving in his own way this whole time KILLS ME. - You HAVE seen at least one of these actors before -- Jamie Parker, who plays the dad, played Harry's father in the Harry Potter movies.

The cast is Canadian (Caissie Levy) and British (everyone else). There are monitors for the conductor/pianist for the occasions there are cues, but the cues for this aren't super complex. The musicians have monitors in their little rooms and there are monitors suspended on the balcony in the audience. Saw this five times in London when it was here. It's a unique experience.

I’ve been waiting for this reaction! 😊

Jack Wolfe was also an amazing Orpheus

Ben Gilbert

No one was able to deal with their grief. They started medicating Diane before she processed her loss. Dan̈ just pushed it all down until he acknowledged Gabe and named him. Natalie didn't know her brother but was grieving for a family that wasn't there for her?

Taylor

I was so obsessed with the original Broadway run of this show, I used it as a topic for one of my college midterms. It’s been more than 15 years since that run, and I was initially worried about how it might be updated, but I’ve grown to like this version even more than the original. The staging is phenomenal, and any updates improved the story and modernized it a bit. I’m sure others have pointed out that the actors playing Diana and Dr. Madden/Fine are the only ones who aren’t British, and it’s not really noticeable. They all capture the beautifully flawed nature of each of their characters so perfectly. I’m so glad you watched it.

Taylor

Jamie Parker actually played Harry Potter in the Cursed Child West End and Broadway runs. He won an Olivier for it, too! Also, if you want to see more Jamie Parker, he was in the West End, Broadway, AND movie versions of The History Boys. Highly recommend that one!

Ben Gilbert

Jack Wolfe is becoming one of my favorite actors on stage and screen. I just finished Netflix̌'s Shadow and Bone. Wolfe was great as Wylan in the second season. He doesn't look it but he was 29 when they filmed the pro-shot. He also had singing parts in Spring Awakening Hadestown, and The Magician's Elephant.

John Marnell

I'm shocked I never saw it before watching the reaction, I went to college with Aaron Tveit and yet for some reason my primary blind spot in both his Broadway career as well as Jeremy Jordan's were/are Next To Normal and Newsies, their respective star-making roles. Great dude, BTW, he was my poker buddy's best friend so we knew each other a little bit. Said poker buddy was on that reality show to cast Danny and Sandy in the revival of Grease around the same time Aaron was in NTN.

John Marnell

Somehow this remained a complete blind spot for me until watching the reaction, and I'm glad it isn't anymore. I don't know why but the "are you spying on your daughter?" exchange tipped me off that he was dead. I'm impressed that they had the foresight and confidence to not hold off on the reveal for longer than a couple minutes after that.

I am so ridiculously excited!!

Youtalkingtome

The Proshots are the perfect way to see a stage show digitally. They are so well-made.

Youtalkingtome

For sure, this was perfectly structured. Any longer, and the story would have become more about the misdirect and the reveal than empathizing with the struggles of the family.

Andreas

I came aware of it quite late. But, boy, this is really one of THE best musicals! Glad you were able to appreciate it, too.

Andreas

A bit more light hearted but still very moving: try the pro shot of BILLY ELLIOT. Just saying. I don’t think it gets enough love from the reaction community 😁

LS

Got patreon to see this and come from away <3

TBF the meds *were* helping she just didn't like how it felt. people with bipolar sometimes don't like the 'balance' because to them it doesn't feel like anything, esp when they're used to two extremes.

Carl Wilson

Just about to watch, finally, but: Casablanca *was a play, but it had never been produced when the movie was made. Someone just brought the script to the producers and they bought it. The play, "Everybody Comes to Rick's," in fact wasn't produced till 1991. I do not think it was a hit.
