Obviously I'm just getting caught up, so probably a longer final post on the last episode tonight or tomorrow. But the video game is really nothing to do with the specific plot of this show. The game is just 5 on 5 team battles with Champions who had some very cool backstories, and some very inconsistent lore about how magic (arcane) and other powers worked to be the basis for different cool abilities. Then they took the background lore for one specific area and a couple of specific champs and fleshed it out in an incredible way with the show. Think of the game as being some invisible godlike power just plucked certain of these individuals out of time and space to battle each other on some divine tournament field. No story relation whatsoever.
