FYI The new season of Ted Lasso started today.

Oraetta was really an agent of chaos here (or is she an actual angel of chaos: I thought the way they arranged her red cape around her shoulders while lying in the shallow grave looked a lot like red wings). I was never sure if Josto really meant for her to kill Donatello, but he certainly did a poor job of defending himself when confronted. When the two of them had their "encounter" in Josto's car in episode 4 I commented on her humming The Battle Hymn of the Republic while pleasuring him, mostly because I remembered Madeline Kahn singing the same song when seducing Peter Boyle at the end of Young Frankenstein -- But then they played it again at the end here while the pair is being marched to their execution. I don't even know what this means!

You did miss the final scene -- in which we learn the degree to which the KC organization has absorbed Cannon Unlimited: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Satchel grows up, joining the organization while taking on the moniker of his mentor, becoming Mike Milligan. Season 2 for the show really represents the end of the story that begins here in season 4: the usurpation of the family criminal businesses by what Ebal here calls "The Sea." But post-season 2 we don't really sea evidence of the KC mob anymore. In seasons 1 & 3 (both set post-2000) criminal activity seems to be less organized on a large scale -- the Fargo "mob" run by Moses Tripoli (nee Hanzi) is so small that Lorne Malvo takes them out over lunchtime. In season 3 the bad guys are more-or-less locusts feeding on more legitimate businesses and moving on. And in both cases they have government agencies (the FBI or the IRS) watching them. Face it, in modern times La Cosa Nostra can't compete with multi-national businesses.

Thanks....wow, so cool. 🤩

Because The Godfather conditioned me to associate oranges with violence and/or death, as soon as I saw the oranges in Loy's grocery bag I knew he was a goner.

I loved that. It was shot so beautifully, several moments could’ve been oil paintings. And then yes, everything wrapped up in a really satisfying way with (karmic) justice served - but it didn’t feel trite, which it easily could have. Each of those moments definitely felt earned. There’s something poetically correct about Oraetta and Josto executed together… Speaking of which, in that moment when we see her reflection in the car window and she has that creepy look, I think we see the ghost/grim reaper thing standing behind her. Maybe. It’s a little hard to tell for sure. Looking forward to Season 5!

Wow, I don't know why they didn't just include that at the end

Speaking of Jon Hamm, Friends & Neighbors is kinda meh. I like a lot of his smaller roles much better (Kimmy Schmidtt, Last Man on Earth, Angie Tribeca, Barry if you can count playing himself). But his best was costarring with Daniel Radcliffe in the very short run A Young Doctor's Notebook & Other Stories (2012), one of my favorite shows that nobody seems to have heard of, well worth checking out (and easy at 8 x 23 minute episodes)
