Herbert Lom is most famous for playing Inspector Dreyfus in the Pink Panther he appears first in Shot in the Dark (1964).

Brooke Adams is married to Tony Shalhoub.

Having seen The West Wing Martin Sheen kinda comes off as Bartlett evil twin in this.

TalynOne

The TV show was great, went 6 seasons and ended on a cliffhanger because they didn't know they were not renewed until after they filmed season 6.

Jonathan Eaton

The show was great. And there was absolutely no 80's nerd left in Anthony Michael Hall in that show. He was great in it.

This is the first of five films adaptions of Stephen King that Dino De Laurentiis made following this was Firestarter (1984), Cats Eyes (1985), Silver Bullet (1985), and Maximum Overdrive (1986).

Nick Stark

I’ve been specifically looking forward to this reaction. Such a great film. Thanks guys.

Late Saturday upload, I did not see this coming.😉

This is my favorite Stephen King book, being a more compact novel that focuses on character development (as all of his stories do). Brooke Adams is also memorable from the 1978 version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", which I assume you both have seen. Thanks for the Saturday upload! It made my day.

Cosmic Slice

The tv show was really good. Anthony Michael Hall was amazing as the lead. In the movie, Johnny's mom was played by the late great Canadian actress Jackie Burroughs. She had over 100 movie and tv shows in her catalogue but most will remember as Aunt Hetty in Road to Avonlea.

I'll be honest I choose this movie half because I like it, and half because I wanted you guys to experience evil Jed Bartlet.

I saw Maximum Overdrive as a child, and even as a kid, it was clear everyone involved was on cocaine.

Youtalkingtome

Seriously. There wasn't a chance to do a bit with Bartlett holding up a child during his assassination attempt?

Youtalkingtome

I remember reading about how good the show was while it aired.

Youtalkingtome

Excellent! Glad you enjoyed it! It was so long ago that I read the book, but parts of it stuck with me.

Youtalkingtome

For sure, I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Suzanne Whyte

I really liked the show and they made some changes that worked well like Sarah being married to the Sheriff and her kid actually was Johnny’s in the tv show.

He wakes up after 5 years....that will be $11, 400,312

Actuarial Lurker

Believe me, you don't WANT to wake up from a weeks long pr more coma. I saw a PBS special where a guy who was an accountant, married etc came out of a coma after 6 months and he was in a diaper, had to be fed and bathed, his IQ was in the 60s after having gone to graduate school- sort of like the END of Flowers for Algernon. They tried to interview him and he was lucid enough to say "Why didn't they let me die?". Get a Living Will, DNR, a "springing" Power of Attorney for Financial Matters that gets invoked if you are rendered incompetent and pray this never happens to you...

Actuarial Lurker

As a man wouldn't your first question be...does...IT...still work?

Actuarial Lurker

He tells his ex-fiancee: "I have this watch that I've been keeping safe for your little boy...."
