I am curious. Why don't you watch this with Joe? Has he already seen it? Do you save your "Insomnia Cinema" for movies he has seen but you have not?

Thief and Dead Zone in the same weekend you guys are spoiling us thank you so much.

I loved seeing so many people discover this movie in the wake of James Caan's passing. He holds a gun like he's going to make someone eat it.

The character Grossman he gets the thermal lance from is Nathan Davis the father of director Andrew Davis most famous for making The Fugitive (1993) which if you have not seen check it out.

Thief is Dennis Farina's film debut at the time he was still a police officer in Chicago. Fun fact he was such a terrible shot that his nickname was "The Great Wounder".

This was blind watch for me. It was a good movie. I think the end was to lead to possible Thief 2.

I haven’t seen this but it’s been on my list. Only thing I was familiar with Tuesday Weld from was The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. A sitcom where the main character competes with Warren Beatty for her affection.

When James Caan blows up his house the production misjudged the size of the explosion and they used way too much. They ended up damaging the foundation and the house ended up needing to be demolished.

I think Joe Pesci's performance in Goodfellas may have been inspired by the adoption service scene- very similar...

Very Buddhist ending....ironically...by not being attached to anything or anyone he has freedom

Prosky thought he was Gus Fring- "I will kill your wife, I will kill your son, I will kill your infant daughter...."
