I have always considered this episode the one where Community actually becomes Community.

Youtalkingtome

This episode definitely had the best ensemble dynamics so far (the whole group in it for Pierce and looking to Jeff for help), while showing the first real growth for Jeff. It is great!

Zyrenicus

Yep. The show has found its feet now and it just keeps cashing in. It gets genre defining from here on out! You're in for a wild ride.

A recipe for delight: 1. Kevin reprising his perfect Sharak imitation.🦅🤣 2. Abed’s extraordinary Batman voice. 3. Señor Chang’s wiggly air quotes.

As other comments have said, an early episode where the group is starting to gel really well. And another appearance from Starburns! :) If you have 5 minutes of personal time once you finish the end of this season, I highly recommend looking up the bloopers. I remember multiple outtakes from Abed!Batman and Troy just riffing that were so hilarious.

The Beast Master: the gift that will never stop giving!

John Marnell

"I would watch a whole episode of just that" Dan Harmon sensed this comment out of context 17 years before it was uttered and created a TV show that gave us whole episodes of literally every single thing "just that" could conceivably be in reference to (and also several that nobody in their right mind would ever want whole episodes dedicated to)

Darcy Smith

Literally the only reactors on the entirety of the internet to get the Beastmaster reference. Truly, you are gentlemen of culture.

Emptysea93

Yes, everyone should watch Beastmaster, including the truly insane and terrible 90s sequel show. You two are the only ones who have recognized Pierce out of years of reactions. Bravo gentlemen, bravo.

I'm not gonna lie, if someone as hot as Joel McHale begged me for sex, I fear every ounce of feminism would drain out of my body.

Lyla

Lmao I had the exact same thought when they were discussing the unlikelihood of it working. I'm like.. have you seen Jeff?!

The Gerard Butler movie Shirley mentions is The Ugly Truth. He is holding a heart over his wiener on the movie poster.
