Another great reaction -- thanks, guys! I think that collar that Moira wore to the meeting with Herb is called a ruff, something that was popular in the era of Elizabeth I (though most examples I've seen were more densely ruffled). The term "Elizabethan collar," I discovered, is used for the cone worn by dogs to prevent their licking or biting an injury. I think the motel phone was working fine. Johnny is just (as we'll continue to see) helpless with every kind of technology, and didn't know to press the lit-up button. He formerly had "people" to do all that for him. I find David's statement that he's really lonely especially touching because it seems to be a brand-new awareness in his life. Formerly he was privileged enough and busy enough that he never worried about whether he had any real friends, but he's just realized that he doesn't (Stevie aside, but they're still cautiously getting to know each other). I loved both David's and Alexis's certainty (which got mostly talked over -- no criticism at all intended, if you're reacting you have to talk sometimes!) that a "panic attack" was a fictional thing that was told to the press to cover up some deeper celebrity problem. I upgraded (foolishly, I guess) to a version of Hulu without commercials, so I have trouble re-syncing after commercials. I'm getting better at it -- practice makes perfect!
