The "raisin in champagne that's gone flat" trick had a brief currency when it was said to reactivate bubbles. In fact, though it may create a few bubbles, they're not at all like the original fizz, and the whole thing doesn't work. Plus, as you said, there's now this raisin in your champagne glass.
