OMG guys! The notification for this just popped up on my phone and I haven’t watched your reaction yet, but I just want to say how excited I am that you’re watching Fleabag. It’s a bit out there but it’s so good and season two is a work of art. Yay!

I always forget her name too and call her Phoebe Lollobrigida...which I feel is also respectful considering Gina's brilliance as well.

Marina

Another excellent show! The pilot is the one episode I like the least but it's already so good, season two is one of my favorite seasons of tv. Everyone involved in this show is so good but Phoebe Waller Bridge specially is a genius

Oh my gosh YES, this show is phenomenal!! Can't wait to see what y'all think.

What a wonderful surprise to find in my Inbox! You guys are going to have a great time with Fleabag. As you said, it's short -- 12 half-hour episodes and done -- and there's no fat on it, it really moves along. Phoebe Waller-Bridge not only stars as the never-named protagonist (we can just call her Fleabag), she wrote every episode. The show takes off from a monologue she used to do at festivals etc., which itself derived from a challenge to create a 10-minute solo sketch for a Standup Storytelling evening.

Roland Cooke

Amazing through all 12 episodes and it doesn't feel short at all because there isn't an ounce of wasted writing space.

i'm so excited to watch this one with you, along with others but especially cxg! 💙 also, as an aside - not a complaint TO y'all, but an "isn't it just the way - of course it is" - i finally get to the end of the week, looking for some smoother sailing with succession and fleabag, so i don't have to work around the ads like with schitt's creek and mad men - just plug and play, right? but now there are youtube ads on the other side. because of course there are! 😆🤣 can't win.

That is what we were just saying to each other, Del: no fat at all in this show. Brilliant writing and direction.

Michael Manville

Oh wow I had no idea you were doing Fleabag too. Fleabag, Crazy Ex Girlfriend, and Ted Lasso are all top 10ish all time for me, and Happy Endings is fantastic as well.

MS NANCEEPANTS

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. (needless to say I'm on board with this show choice)

I forgot how much I love this show. Also they nail that feeling of losing someone so important to you and then the scrambling and confusion you go through over how to fill the hole they leave in your life. Perfect anti-hero - great mix of redeeming and not-so-great moments. Whens the next one?!!

I think this is a great "watch-alike" for Crazy Ex Girlfriend. I think I have a thing for shows that initially appear just funny and crass, but actually have a lot of deeper content.

Anika

Funny you mentioned before that there are similarities between the girl in this show, and Rebecca Bunch. They share a disorder. Although, in this show she's a little rougher. And also has other disorders that make that make sense.

Anika

I'm not sure if the shorter length is a British thing. But I've noticed that the newer generations don't seem to like or appreciate the longer seasons or shows.

Anika

Pants = Underwear Fanny = Butt or also maybe Vag*na? One of those.

I thought so too. But I could have sworn that someone from New Zealand said it was the latter where they are from. I could be wrong though.
