One of my favorite episodes for so many reasons! jamie putting the tape on was a huge turning point! And Sam is such a great character! Thanks for the binge!!

I get so defensive on behalf of Sam every time I watch this episode and see that text come in from his father. He didn't "choose to be a shill" - he didn't know! I mean, should he have done more research on the corporation he agreed to advertise for? Sure. But, by golly, he's just a kid. I want to hug him every time and tell his dad to choose his words much more carefully.

I think that's just Obisanya the elder's way of speaking. Especially in text, he goes for directness and strong words bordering on superlative. I'm guessing Sam "breaks his heart" on a monthly basis or more. It seems to fit with his larger than life appearance as we see in season 3. And we know Sam knows he loves, respects and supports him without a doubt, so it seems to work for them.
