You always do such great appreciation and analysis of the psychology and relationships on the show. Thank you for that! I hope you're allowing yourselves to appreciate the songs as songs too, because they're magnificent stylistic achievements. For instance, "The Math of Love Triangles" is a dead-on pastiche of Marilyn Monroe's iconic "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" number from the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEyWqVfY4vo right down to the costuming, the back-up boys, and the baby-doll voice and attitude. It's one of my top favorite songs from the series, along with "Settle For Me" (which we heard several times in this episode as underscoring, quite appropriately).

Fun, frustrating episide....but I'll always be annoyed that it perpetuates the myth that women's cycles "sync up". Though...I guess Paula and Rebecca might not be the best judges of logic.

you guys understand and analyze this show so well, I always love hearing your discussions at the end. If you like this show, I cannot recommend enough that you watch Bojack Horseman. It's got lots of chilling moments and animation, and it really is a lot like this show but in its own way entirely. Dunno if you're looking for suggestions or not but if you are, bojack changed my life and my idea of how stories can be told. Chef's kiss to both these shows, and I'd love to hear the insights you'd have watching it if you ever decide to!

I really cannot wait for you to see the next episode. it's one of my favourites (and you will not be too mad, hopefully ;))

the Rebecca/therapist dynamic in this episode really reminds me of Lucifer S01 - if you've seen it, you'll know what I am talking about ;)

Settle For Me is one of our favorites as well. Usually we catch what they are parodying and are in shock of the actually song itself.

I've heard nothing but good things about Bojack. We'll take it in consideration! Thanks for your kind words, we love watching!

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but the show was pitched as a deconstruction of romantic comedies (and a look at the darker side, the mental health side, that's often left out for the sake of genre cohesion). So whenever there are annoying and tired romcom tropes (like the love triangle, like the run to the airport), just know it's all there for a purpose ahha. Enjoying these reactions and can't wait to watch the next few eps! S2 is my favourite season (and at least 50% of that is how phenomenal and catchy the S2 theme song is haha)
