"The Trent is Getting Ready Song" is on my playlist for the sheer hilarity of it. When it starts, I think it's the regular Sexy Getting Ready Song, but then Trent's voice kicks in. So hilarious, "he's so normal". What's great about this show is that it's cringey, but it KNOWS it's cringey. It gives us Trent as a mirror for Rebecca, and you have someone like Heather pointing out all of the uncomfortable stuff to really highlight to the viewer, "Yeah, we know. It's uncomfortable."

I can't disagree about the cringiness (I haven't rewatched this episode in a while, and... yikes), but I'm glad you both are taking it in an appropriate way, appreciating the quality of the writing and understanding that it's part of the 4-season journey. I want to reiterate how much I enjoy re-experiencing it with the two of you; good times indeed. Musically, "Friendtopia" is a Spice Girls joint (they put on British accents, and call themselves out as "the sexy one" etc.), and you immediately knew the source of "Stuck in the Bathroom." Not forgetting "The Trent Is Getting Ready Song."

By the way, I recently attended a musicology conference, and one of the presentations was about the music in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (the re-use of songs as background music in later episodes). It was by no means the first scholarly examination of the songs in the series either; CXG has become quite an object of musical study.

Yes! We actually caught all the references for once! Thanks for cringing along with us. It was a blast! lol

The burst of laughter from you at 45:54 was simply *chef's kiss*

Legally speaking, it doesn't matter if someone has hacked other people's phones and texts... you cannot legally hack their phones and texts.

I'm sorry, but Paula is a huge hypocrite! One, she acts like Rebecca replaced her even though she did the same thing. Then she acts all high and mighty about privacy rights and laws, like she didnt GPS people (Josh's mother) and hack into people's phones and accounts (Valencia). And on the topic of accusing Rebecca of trying to include Paula with the rest of her friends as being selfishly motivated (which in part is true, but at least she tried, unlike Paula who just let it die) lets not pretend that most of season 1 was not Paula pushing things with Rebeca and Josh for her own selfish desires. It was not just Paula selflessly giving and Rebecca selfishly taking!

Oh yes! the number of times season 1 Rebecca tried to talk about anything else or do anything anything not Josh-related, while Paula was obsessed!

Hey guys! I've been watching this for the first time along with you. The show is well-written, the songs are bangers, and it's a fun ride to watch it with you guys! However, I'm struggling a bit with it now. Greg was my favourite character, and he's gone. All the other characters are making terrible decisions, being terrible people, and are showing literally no redeeming qualities at the moment. Is there a bit of a turnaround soon? Feel free to spoil a little bit. Do these characters learn and grow, or is this just the show? I thought Rebecca had learned and grew in Season 1, but she's regressed to being an even shittier person now. 😲 If these characters don't improve soon, this show is probably not for me. I need at least some of the main characters to not be constantly unlikeable. 😬

Yes! Absolutely stick with it. It has one of the most satisfying endings I've seen. We get the same way but it is worth the journey. Lots of great characters to come!
