Barry, Season 1, Episode 5

I think a big part of why the show works is Bill Hader. The main character is a guy who frequently murders people, but there’s just something in the way Bill Hader plays him that makes you sympathize with him. In reality we shouldn’t like Barry, but his quiet, unassuming nature makes it difficult not to. And it’s definitely not toxic to not like Sally. While she did have her own reasons to react the way she did last episode, that doesn’t excuse her incredibly self-centered personality. I’m glad this episode finally has people call her out on it.

Yes! That was so satisfying and you're right. Because we know it's Bill Hader as well it almost disarms us as the viewers!
