Ted Lasso, Season 3, Episode 11

Mermaid Day

1. Dani must've unlocked some super power in Van Damme when he broke his nose. He's been unstoppable.

Mermaid Day

2. Beard got me this episode 😢

Mermaid Day

3. If Phil Dunster doesn't get nominated for an Emmy, we riot!

All of these are completely true! VAN DAMME! Absolutely crushing it! Beard's story was fantastic and I loved the Les Mis joke as well. Phil Dunster man, kind of the unsung hero of the show.

Jason took advantage of his status to make comments on some controversial topics but done from a perspective of love and respect for all others. Second chances are a main theme and also growth when the characters are open to learning new ways of making their way through the world. Those "fans" who cannot learn a new way of seeing the world may not like what they are seeing but the show is truly fantastic and basically perfect. These days making outrageous statements is how you get attention in the world so that may be a part of what you are hearing. But it is truly lovely and ok to say so!!

Please explain how Mork and Mindy was a spin off of Happy Days!!

This episode was incredible, so deep and loving, yet nothing new for the show Ted Lasso is about love, about helping people and about moving forward and it did just that Beard's speech was so moving and the scene between Ted and his mom was even more for me. The whole "Thank you and Fuck you" summarize his character so much from what we know P.S. The coach of Manchester City, the bald guy, is the actual real coach of Manchester City. The team is really big, just won the Premier League in real life and in the final of the European cup. The fact he worked on the show is incredible: he was there in time and he left with no seconds to spare because he HAD TO COACH a game in the Champions League, an important one. LMAO

I know that he is the real coach I saw something about him on Instagram! Yes the moment with Ted and his mom brought the water works and we were absolutely floored with Beard's speech.

TEAM SLEEPLESS! I think at least some people don't like this season because they want it to be the show it was in the first season -- shorter episodes and more clearly comedic. But I love shows that grow and evolve. And the woke accusation just makes me laugh. The show has been socially aware for a while.

Right?! From the get go that was what the show was. Normally a show like this could be cringe and make you wanna roll your eyes. Not this show. It is powerful and ultimately just a feel good show that cares about people!

To paraphrase Roy Kent, this season was "fine". After the first two seasons I didn't want to settle for fine. The Sunflowers and Mom City episodes were two of the best episodes of the entire season, but there was so much mediocrity, especially with the Keely/Roy/Jack arc. Zava and Shandy were also mediocre as well. Loved the way all of the arcs were closed though.

I think we both enjoyed it more than most. It was a refreshing break from a lot of the dark shows that we watch.
