- Absolutely agreed on Ted and Rebecca. TV and movies don't have nearly enough prominent male-female friendships that STAY that way, and this one was a huge part of the show. - Absolutely disagree with Ted on air conditioning. It is a RIGHT. - So many great callbacks ... some of them even seem in-universe, like the characters themselves are calling back, knowing this is the end of an era for the team. - Some fans have speculated that everything that happens in the Cat Stevens montage is a dream, since it ends with Ted waking up on the plane. Brendan Hunt has debunked this, though. - Speaking of which, one of the things that people thought supported that idea was Ted not being at Beard's wedding (Roy is his best man). I think this was a deliberate narrative choice to have him not come back to the UK because they needed to end his arc on his going home. And coming back, even briefly, would have undercut that. (Plus, the way they edited it, it would have seemed *even more* like a dream if Ted had woken up on the plane after we saw him at Beard's wedding.) - I was bummed they had Roy and Jamie be so stupid about Keeley, but it did make it possible for Keeley to step back from both of them and have it be about her career and her friendship with Rebecca. I do think, if we followed the characters on, that she'd eventually give Roy another chance (and Juno Temple agrees), but I love that we end on Keeley-Roy-Jamie as friends. - On a similar note, I love that we don't have definitive endings for the characters, and it has made me less keen in general on the concept of characters "ending up" with anyone romantically or "ending up" in some job or whatever. We all "end up" the same -- dead -- and anything before that is in constant flux. And I love this show for reinforcing that.

It's the first time I end a tv show with you guys and the emotions were there. I wanted Ted and Rebecca to end up together I wanted Keeley and Roy to end up together I wanted Ted to stay at Richmond I wanted Richmond to win the league And you know what? This is the actual proof that the "how" is far superior than the "what". I feel nothing but joy for this finale, even though it did everything against my hopes, even though it was the opposite of what I wanted. I don't care: I just feel good. Like Ted said, it's not about wins or losses, it's not about that for me either. Ted made us all be a better version of ourselves: we proved that we can show emotions, that we can laugh and smile for small funny things. He helped us all to look at the world in a gentle way and always look for the positive stuff Ted Lasso came into our lives without us wanting him and he's gone without us wanting him to leave. He was an angel, a leader, a coach and a man of love. He was what we all needed in our lives. I want to Believe.

"You can't always get what you want but if you try sometimes, well, you might find you get what you need" Damn, they really set us up by using that song in the trailer...

Like you, I don’t understand those negative magazine reviews. I was happy with this season, and episode. The only thing that I didn’t like was their choice to do the green screen wedding — Beard and Jane getting married at Stonehenge is a fun gag, but if the trade-off was green screen I would rather they just have them doing a quirky pagan wedding somewhere else.

Some of the negative criticisms is that even thought the show isn't about football, they really started to drop the ball on that front and unfortunately they completely missed it in this final episode. Which is probably fine if you don't watch soccer. It wasn't even cliché it was badly executed. Not in a million years Isaac would be the guy to take that penalty kick, it's like asking the punter to throw a Hail Mary in the Superbowl, but sure. The fact that he clearly kicks it over the bar and to the left in the side shot but then we have to pretend he kicked it through the net on the second shot was annoying. That just doesn't happen. Rupert would never be allowed on the pitch. Then Zoreaux clearly commits a red card handball. And then the worst of it all was the fans and the team celebrating the win, there's no way a team and their fans in that position would celebrate before finding out the result in the Man City game, there wouldn't be a pitch invasion at that time. They just should had them win the league. It started out as a perfect cultural crossover and the first time football was done right and then it went all American, which is a bit of a shame. But aside from the football part most of it this show was great, I wasn't a big fan of the early episodes this season, but it completely switched with the Amsterdam episode which was my favorite overall. Matteo van der Grijn was such a good cast for the Dutch guy, that chemistry with Hannah Waddingham was spot on. Also a side thing if you're a fan of Hannah Waddingham singing, here's her practicing the Christmas song: https://youtu.be/sc68kYdUH-k

Reviews are pointless. If you enjoyed it, then you enjoyed it. I certainly did. People seem to take ownership of series and films and I don't understand it. It's not your vision, it's the vision of the creators. They don't "lose their way" unless things get too complicated and they suddenly have to wrap up all that complexity in a few episodes (see Game of Thrones, which I didn't mind. They did what they could to carry out their vision as best they could). In this series, they had a 3 season arc. They completed that arc as they had planned, with only slight modifications (i.e. the added season two episodes). I appreciate what they gave us. One little note about the guy that Rebecca dated briefly that they brought back a couple of times this season: As a Manchester United supporter I found it hilarious when he said he just switched back and forth based on who was doing better. And I love the little details, so it was even better when he showed up in that restaurant earlier in this season wearing a scarf that was split, half with Manchester United colors and crest and half with the City colors and crest. Beautifully done. I do think Apple will try and get them to write a spinoff and I can certainly see Sudeikis doing it from a producing side of things. I'd certainly watch because I do love the atmosphere they built with this series. Let's continue in the AFC Richmond universe.

Really well said. I think the Roy, Jamie, and Keely bit is the only thing I wasn't super stoked about. I did like that we had the shot with them at the end looking happy. Great Finale and one that I will return too, many many times.

She's perfect. We love Hannah Waddingham so much! Yeah we don't watch soccer, so a lot of that went over our heads. It was more feel good than anything else, but I can see how that would drive you crazy!

I'm going to throw out Severance as another great Apple+ show. Ben Stiller directs and Adam Scott stars!

We were denied the match we all wanted to see. . . Henry's team, coached by Ted vs. Phoebe's team, coached by Roy

Funny story, you know Richmond's motto, "Gradarius firmus victoria", that is never ever commented upon but that shows up in writing on the locker room walls in just about every single episode, it means something like "slow and steady towards victory", but, the funny part, although I must stress I myself am not at all fluent in Latin, but the Internet suggests it's possibly actually "really bad Latin". Basically nonsense. Which I think is wonderfully representative of the club and the show.

So are you guys going to be background artists when they start shooting the just-announced S4 in Kansas City? 🤩😀
