Duck now works for "Grey Group" which was one of the largest ad agencies in the world in the 60s. McCann Erickson is the firm in season 1 that tried to woo Don and hire Betty as the Coca Cola model....You will see several REAL rival ad agencies mentioned throughout the series either as firm's pitching for the same business or sometimes more- I won't say more than that

Season 1 was was entirely in 1960- March through election day, Season 2 was in 1962 ending with the Cuban Missile crisis when PPL bought them and when Don used JFK's calling Kruschev's bluff as a parallel with Pete telling Don about Duck's move. Season 3 started in Spring 1963 that is why we see Derby Day, the July 23 forced contract signing by Cooper. So you DID leap over ALL of 1961. With Season 4, 5, 6, Season 7 part 1 and Season 7 part 2 you can basically figure out a rough timeline. When Don visits Anna in Season 2 he says Bobby is 5 and Sally is 8- and that was in October 1962.So with 4 more seasons to go and Sally already being 9 you can tell the ages they MIGHT be by Season 7 so in your wrap up about how a potential divorce might play out you can draw the inferences

This is one of the KEY episodes of the entire series as you will discover by the end...pun was intended

On the Derby Day episode we learned that Paul was middle class- won a scholarship to Princeton and is now passing as an elite- but can't pull it off the way Don who isn't Ivy League has been able to fake it. Paul is now caught as faking it as Peggy turns just a sentence or two into an idea on a dime and Betty discovers who Don really is...

During the first scene with Don and the teacher, the song “Dominique” is playing in the background—to this day, the only #1 song on the US charts written and performed by a Belgian nun.

Assorted musings that are only possible because this is at least my 10th rewatch of the series - and each time I discover a new detail or a new way to look at things: When Paul Kinsey shakes hands with Achilles, I couldn't help but wonder if he even washed his hands after doing the deed :D "The faintest ink is better than the best memory" - I think this could also tie back to the question "Why did Don keep all these photos and documents?" The Colour Blue - the key is in Don's blue pyjamas and the colour blue is also Betty's sad colour (like purple is for Joan) - the costume designer for the show, Janie Bryant, left no detail to chance and there is a brilliant costume analysis by Tom & Lorenzo https://tomandlorenzo.com/2010/06/mad-style-betty-draper-s1-part-1-2/ But I recommend not reading further until you have at least finished this season.

I will save this and go back to it later! I am absolutely intrigued with the behind the scenes of this show. It truly is a modern masterpiece. Also there is no chance Paul washed his hands after that.
