Gilmore Girls is a comedy. And a great show.

Weird Magic

Someone said in a previous post that the first seasons were better than the later ones, but like West Wing and Mad Men there really isn't a bad season so don't be discouraged that this goes downhill at the end (cough, Game of Thrones, cough) IMDB ratings by Season: 1 | 8.4 2 | 8.6 3 | 8.4 4 | 8.2 5 | 8.3 Originally airing on November 29, 2017, 'Ya Shivu v Bolshom Dome Na Kholme' is Episode 2 of Season 1 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It is the 2nd episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.3, placing it as the #5 ranked episode of this season and #2 out of all the episodes shown so far.

Pretty sure Rachel Brosnahan is not in game of thrones or westworld. I only made it to season 2 of house of cards but I vaguely remember her in that one. Where I became familiar with her was a show called Manhattan. She was excellent as a supporting character. It had an excellent cast for a show on a channel that most people didnt know was on their cable box(WGN America). It only had 2 seasons but was well worth the watch. If you liked Oppenheimer this summer you'd most certainly like Manhattan. Mix of history with some fictious characters. Channel favorite Richard Schiff makes an appearance for 10 or so episodes :)

Just a few items of info, and I'll try to avoid spoilers: - "Gilmore Girls" was a comedy/drama created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino, who wrote and/or directed all episodes of "Mrs. Maisel." Their skill with comedic dialogue is up there with Aaron Sorkin. - Both sets of parents do get a lot of screen time throughout the entire show. You will love it. - Susie is played by Alex Borstein, who's been a comedian for years, and is best known as the voice of Lois on "Family Guy." She was also occasionally on "Gilmore Girls"; many actors from "Gilmore Girls" end up with supporting roles on this show. - Regarding opinions about the seasons of this show: I think each season is different, and I liked them all for different reasons. I loved the final season, and felt it was a beautiful wrap-up of Midge's journey. (But I also liked the final episodes of "Lost" and "Game of Thrones", so what do I know?) - Yes, it really was filmed in New York, which is amazing.

Fun fact! When they made the pilot, they did not have any plans for Lenny Bruce to appear past that episode - it was just going to be a one-off cameo from a historical figure. But when they saw Luke Kirby's amazing portrayal, they decided to make him a recurring character. Also, yes, they filmed in New York, and had a couple of stand-up consultants. One of them actually has a minor role in the show.

Technically, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino did not write and direct EVERY episode, just MOST of the episodes. Of the 43 episodes in the show, Amy Sherman-Palladino directed 21, Daniel Palladino directed 14, Scott Ellis directed four, Jamie Babbit directed two, and Daniel Attias and Daisy von Scherler Mayer did one each. In terms of the scripts, that was skewed even more heavily towards Amy and Dan, but there were still a few staff writers such who got an episode or two to their name. Writing is generally very collaborative, and most of the writers on a given season would have had some input on each script, regardless of who got the final credit for it. That being said, the show is definitely the Palladinos' vision through-and-through. It is inspired in large part by Amy's father, who was a standup comic in New York in that era. Of course, it also draws on the life stories of other comics of the time, especially Joan Rivers.

That's good to know because Game of Thrones took a real dive. I think when a show peaks in an early season, people tend to think the rest of it is not good...there's many shows where that's just not the case.

The math here is linear algebra, usually a college freshman or sopohomore year course if you're majoring in anything engineering related.
