Oh... Robert Preston's Harold Hill. I love Matthew Broderick... and he was great... but Robert Preston is the quintessential Music Man. By the way... Joel's bar is the Old Town Bar and Restaurant. It's been around since the late 1800s and is a famous NYC site. It's been used in lot's of TV and movies.

I forgot how much I cringed when I first watched this episode! Yes, Midge will have her ups and downs during her journey, but most of it will be unpredictable and totally original. I have to say, I love your reactions and how much you're both enjoying the show, but you are chatting over some of the funniest lines. Not that I want you to be silent the whole time, because that wouldn't be much of a reaction, but just remember that the writing in this show is always going to be quick, original, and witty, so don't assume that some of the characters' "small talk" is less important. I really want you both to get the full Maisel experience! And by the way, Wallace Shawn is only one of so many more great cameos and supporting roles to come. You're in for a real treat!

Curious if you're going to do like you did with the other shows (West Wing, Mad Men, et al) and do a binge that gets you 4 weeks ahead of YouTube? Originally airing on November 29, 2017, 'Doink' is Episode 5 of Season 1 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It is the 5th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 7.8, placing it as the #8 ranked episode of this season and #5 out of all the episodes shown so far.

The next time i'm in NYC I will go there. I don't go often but when I do, you can bet I'll post a picture of me having a drink there!

The dialogue moves so quickly it is hard sometimes. We have the subtitles on for that reason. We will try to work on that.

Prime must have poured millions into this show. The costumes like you said, but also eg. they'll have an extensive period accurate exterior just for a one second establishing lol

Mary (Midge's make-up counter buddy) is played by Mrs Harry Potter; I knew Erin Darke was an established actor, but I don't recall seeing her in anything before.
