The bigger issue for Abe, IMO, is that both of his kids are lying and keeping BIG secrets from him - he's a mathematician - order is what drives people like that (me too) - having your world not what you think it is can be disconcerting. Originally airing on December 5, 2018, 'Let's Face the Music and Dance' is Episode 6 of Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It is the 14th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.6, placing it as the #5 ranked episode of this season and #4 out of all the episodes shown so far.

Yes, there are still places like the resort in existence. I don't think there are as many of them, and I think it is also less common for people to go for the entire summer, but they do still exist. My extended family went to one in MI for about a week a few years back to celebrate my grandmother's 90th. It wasn't quite as organized or nice as the one on the show, though.

I think while Abe feels disappointed with Midge... he actually feels betrayed by Noah. As far as Abe knew... Noah was the younger version of himself... a mathematician... an academic. You also have to consider that McCarthyism is barely over... so finding out your son has been working for a clandestine organization is probably a bit jarring. Now... I'm not sure why he chooses that to tell Rose over Midge being a comedian. Perhaps he only had so much bandwidth for secrets.

I also wonder if Abe saw Noah as “following in his footsteps.” The CIA is not that. It throws Abe’s idea of order out the window. I started my career at the same place as my mother, working in the same office, and I’ve now surpassed her in pay and stature. This causes conflicts because she thinks of herself as the wise, adult and that I’m just a kid.

Great reaction as usual guys. I do think it's ironic that you mentioned Three's Company in this video that I'm watching on the day that Suzanne Somers died. I am old enough to have watched Three's Company in real time. Great memories. RIP.

It’s so much fun hearing your theories on what you think is gonna happen, especially regarding Midge’s love life lol. Abe to me is a very frustrating character who’s incredibly played by Tony so I can excuse a lot of the stuff that annoys me or doesn’t work for me about his storylines.

Abe's ego is so huge it appears that he can't (initially, at least) conceive of: a) his son - who finished top of his class at MIT, mind - surpassing him b) his daughter - who stands up to him every day - having a mind of her own c) his wife - who lived independently in Paris before they met - having dreams and ambitions of her own* d) his own position (at Bell Labs), not being very significant (*credit where credit is due, Abe arranging for Rose to sit in on some university classes was brilliant, ) I don't know how accurate that is / how much we are supposed to infer, but the poor guy is getting slapped in the face by the Reality Fish over and over and over at the moment. :D

I do feel for him but at the same time he's gotta wake up a little. He's a great man who has achieved a lot and has a very loving family. At the end of the day, they have their own ambitions too and he can't project himself onto every thing.
