I love how excited you guys got when Midge was doing well on the telethon! It's obvious how much you've emotionally bought in to the character and the show, so it's fun to watch. It's also fun hearing your predictions and hopes for future storylines, but it's excruciating trying to avoid any spoilers! Tony Shalhoub did win the Emmy for this season. And Jerry Lewis died in 2017. (Two unrelated facts. I assume.) As I watch Rose throughout this series, I remember that the actress, Marin Hinkle, was on a family drama called "Once and Again" twenty years ago. She played the main character's younger sister, a free-spirited, easy-going, flaky young woman, the total opposite of Rose Weissman. It makes me appreciate her performance even more.

You are correct, that song was from South Pacific! And Shy Baldwin does have an amazing singing voice, however, it doesn’t come from the actor you see. Shy’s singing voice comes from Broadway actor Darius de Haas. Fun fact- every episode in seasons 1 and 2 contain at least one song from a musical/ movie musical (except one episode in each one, not sure why).

I love the telethon scene in this episode so much! It's one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. Incredibly written/acted and Daniel Palladino was even nominated for an Emmy for directing this episode. Love seeing how right or wrong some of your predictions are about where some characters/plotlines are going. Also, yes, Tony did win an Emmy for this season. His episode submission was the first Catskills episode. The show won four acting nominations for season 2. Alex Borstein (supporting actress) and Jane Lynch (guest actress) both had this episode as their submission and both won! Luke Kirby won guest actor and you'll see why soon enough! Can't wait to watch you guys dig into the finale next week! It has one of my all-time favorite scenes/performances.

We can't wait either. We gotta see what Lenny has been up to!

As a 50(now)-year old white guy - I had no idea who Moms Mabley was when Shy did the name drop in the bathroom. Love watching shows that make me go find out about people/stuff I hadn't been exposed to yet! Originally airing on December 5, 2018, 'Vote for Kennedy, Vote for Kennedy' is Episode 9 of Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It is the 17th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 9.1, placing it as the #2 ranked episode of this season and #2 out of all the episodes shown so far.

I think Joel was looking at the check because he was watching Midge making her dreams come true and so was thinking he should start doing the same for himself.
