Yes, It's Really Us Singing: The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Concert Special!

Are you guys gonna return to mad men this week?

Again, this page https://www.youtube.com/@AnaCardo presents 4 compilation videos (each under 10 minutes) that shows bits of all the songs alongside their likely visual/musical sources -- a good way to review (even to watch with us, hint hint) before ranking songs.

This concert took place in LA a few weeks before the finale aired, so that it could be edited in time to air right after it, the same night. I saw one of the two NYC concerts a couple of months later -- some differences in personnel and in song content (we got all of "Don't Be a Lawyer!"), but still wonderful. We got Lin-Manuel Miranda as a surprise guest! (He had worked with "Valencia" in the past.) I've watched this "Antidepressants" staging more times than I would want to admit. Like analyzing who's a strong enough dancer to do the tap section: Rachel of course is front & center, with the 4 experienced theater tappers featured behind her (Paula, Valencia, Josh, White Josh), and then 3 at the back (Maya, AJ, Nathaniel) with less focused experience but willing/able to fill in.

Thanks so much for completing the reactions by including the concert! It really is a blast, isn't it?

Ahhh, what a journey it's been! I LOVED this concert special, although I agree that it was too short! The first time I watched it I was pretty much fangirl screaming the whole time. The Sexy Getting Medley Song killed me. Imagine Josh lying under those pillows waiting for his cue, or Heather and Valencia crouched behind the headboard until it was time for Period Sex. Sooo great. Of course, there are song we wish they covered, but it's really hard to whittle down 157 songs into forty minutes. I can't wait for your ranking and to hear how hard it was to make your own top five choices. Impossible!

This show was just so special. I was actually supposed to be at this live show and couldn't attend (still bitter). So happy to have gone on the journey with y'all, just thrilled you gave it a chance and ended up loving it. The CXG community is a small but fierce one! <3

We're so happy and proud that we are now apart of it. What a show. I'll never forget my first time watching this show with all of you!

I get in my feels everytime I finish rewatching this show because I think it's one of the most clever and brilliant shows out there, and I'm so glad I found your content and got to be part of this journey with you all! Welcome to the CXG club! ❤️

For another brilliantly written comedy with hilarious and catchy music I highly recommend reacting to (or just watching) Girls5Eva on peacock. I’ve watched it probably five times through and I catch new jokes each time 😊

Speaking of projects the cast of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is currently doing, Gabrielle Ruiz who plays Valencia on the show is currently playing T'Lyn on Star Trek: Lower Decks. And, as you could expect, she is amazing. There is an incredibly small overlap on the venn diagram of Star Trek fans and Crazy Ex-Girlfriends fans and that overlap is me.
