I'm with you guys on the cringe factor of the play. So hard to watch, but well done, and made the point about Sophie. By the way, "Bye Bye Birdie" was on Broadway in 1960-61, and the movie came out in 1963. And if you haven't heard of Phyllis Schlafly, she was indeed a monster, and continued her awfulness into the 70s and 80s, all the way until her death in 2016. I just have to mention that even though Joel didn't have much to do in this episode, I'm loving him more and more as the series goes on. He was so hard to like in the first season, but now he's one of my favorite people.

Not watched it, but probably should get round to it at some point! > The FX miniseries Mrs. America also partially focuses on Schlafly's life and activism, with Cate Blanchett portraying Schlafly. Though some praise the series for its accuracy,[89] Schlafly's family members, among other critics, dispute the accuracy of several accounts in the series.[90][91] <

Seasons 1, 3 and 4 are only 8 episodes. I believe the Palladinos were given some flexibility after season 1 for 8-10 episodes. It’s pretty great how densely packed each episode is, they almost feel like 18 episode seasons. As for Miss Julie being a disaster, there’s a fascinating and entertaining history of Broadway Flop stories. Some people are avid collectors of Playbills from shows that close in a short time whether that’s a week or sometimes after one performance. Here’s a hilarious article about the biggest Broadway flop in history called “Moose Murders” which has become the standard by which all other Broadway flops are compared to. https://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/21/theater/21moos.html .

OK - so MMM timeline - all of season 3 dropped on the same date, 12/6/19 - just before covid officially started (actually, almost exactly the date Covid started, maybe they caused Covid? I've heard worse conspiracy theories lol). Season 4 didn't drop until 2/18/22 - yes - we waited 805 days between seasons!!! You guys are so lucky... :) Originally airing on December 6, 2019, ""Marvelous Radio"" is Episode 7 of Season 3 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It is the 25th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.3, placing it as the #6 ranked episode of this season and #16 out of all the episodes shown so far.

Did not know that. That's crazy! You had to wait that long. Did not realize the show ended so recently. The last 3 years have been nuts!

The actress who plays Susie’s sister played a minor character on Gilmore Girls, Francie. She was a redhead in that one. I think Abe and Rose didn’t see their lives going this way. They thought their kids would be married and on their own at this stage, so it has been an inconvenience to have to take the grandkids so much. They didn’t envision a divorced daughter embarking on a career that took her away from her children. Rose saw Midge as a mini-Rose-measuring her ankles, getting up early to put makeup on before her husband woke up, being a homemaker, etc. Abe didn’t see Noah working for the CIA and his Bryn Mawr educated daughter on stage making fun of him and getting arrested for her “dirty mouth.” They are both having an identity crisis and melting down at the same time.

Absolutely they are. That's the strange thing about life, we just can't predict it. It's funny that two characters who are so far into theirs are just now realizing that.

In case you ever interested there was a wonderful miniseries Mrs. America which was about Phyllis Schlafly played by Cate Blanchett and Gloria Steinem played by Rose Byrne. It also has Sarah Paulson, Elizabeth Banks and Margo Martindale. Loved it when I saw it back in 2020
