I'm gonna write it here so that Ross may actually read it, cause I know you don't read YT comments: Ross, darling, sunshine of my life and the man I love: you said yesterday "after a 3-4 weeks of build". It's an oxymoron. You can't build anything meaningful in 3-4 weeks. People were disappointed because they were almost expecting a sort of a Gobbledy Gooker, and lo and behold - there he fucking is. Most of the WWE fans don't know indie wrestlers who weren't even anywhere on TV in the last two years, so for them it was another WWE shtick with zombies.

From what I saw, many were speculating it was Jericho until the days before the show... that's a meaningful one in my eyes. You debut Danhausen in that Raw segment, and 90% of the negative noise isn't there. ALWAYS underpromise and overdeliver! In the eyes of some (and that's the nature of the beast with a divisive gimmick like Danhausen's, I know), they did the opposite with the way the debut was executed. Since the box first appeared, they gave people license to create their own lofty expectations (which they should do as it's wrestling) but the issue was Danhausen was never going to match the expectation - either, because, as you say, people won't know him, or people do know him and might not like him. I also reckon the debut was a bit too choreographed and fancy for Danhausen - needed to be rougher and more off the cuff! I'LL SEE YOU IN THE CARPARK!

Great video like always, thank you for bringing us the wtf moments! And by the way, maybe the reason why Def Rebel could produce a fitting song for Danhausen is because he, other than 99% of the wrestlers in WWE today, has a character you could fit a song to. No wonder most of the other songs sound the same - it's because the wrestlers actually ARE the same! It's just pointed out by the entrances, that most of them lack any kind of character despite "Uhhhh, I'm a wrestler".
