I entered thinking I was going to publish three books, and then quickly realized I was just overdoing it with that goal. I have since decided to space out the two other smaller projects I had on my plate to give me some time to work on my third novel.

I did publish The Blood of Life, the novel I had been working on, and the reception of the book has been great. I’ve been very happy with it, and sales for my books have been up this year! I’m doing well, except, I’m really not.

The last few months have been mentally rough, but I’m pushing through. I worked really hard to get The Blood of Life done for Anthrocon, and I needed some time after that to reset. The state of the world has also been wearing on me, and I confess I’ve let too much of that in. It’s not helped my mental state. Simply put, burnout takes time to recover from, and I certainly incurred some mental exhaustion finishing up that book

Yet, I’m a survivor, not because I feel I do great in a crisis, but I somehow manage to keep going, even when I’m feeling down. Maybe it’s slow, maybe it’s not as fast as I want, but I keep putting one foot after the other.  (Or one footpaw after the other if you want furry this up a little.) 2025 has been a rough year for a lot of people, so I can’t knock that I haven’t got as much done as I wanted to.

So, tomorrow I’ll post my plans for 2026, and what I’ll be working on in the new year.
