The last month has been busy and yet I still have more stuff I wanted to accomplish. I did get Chapter 1 of Shadows of the Spotted Swordsman updated and posted on here, and Chapter 2 went out to my writing group in April. I finally get all the feedback back for the chapter on Friday. Chapter 3 will go to the next session of my writing group once we get that scheduled. Currently it’s in a rough state. I also have been working on some project production work, and started working on a short story I need to get to the Furry Historical Fiction (FHFS) in the next month. Writing the story for the FHFS and finishing up Rites of Hope, my chapbook, will need to take up most of my energy this month, but I want to limit the number of distractions so I keep my focus on Shadows.
Because of that, I don’t write as many short stories as I used to, not because I don’t have idea, but because I’ve shifted my focus toward my novels. One of the reasons I’ve been slow to even work on the FHFS story is because I don’t want to get caught up in another project. However, I promised myself I would write for all six planned books in the series. This is anthology 5, and I finally figured out what to do for it. A draft of the story for anthology 6 already exists, and is waiting for me to revise.
My greatest lament as a writer is I don’t have the time I would if I didn’t have to keep a full time job, but I’m still pushing ahead. I’m still working to hone my craft. Onward and upward is all I can do. As for a new story or novel chapter this month, I’ve got something I’m about to post that came out last year in Chasing Tail: Anti-Terrorist Nudity. It’s as silly as the the titles.
