Things keep chugging along on my end. Unfortunately, I’ve had to put down working on Shadows of the Spotted Swordsman to finish up various other projects on my end this month, but I expect to pick it back up soon. That doesn’t mean I’ve not been busy lately.

First, I finally knocked out my edits on “Alone the Ice,” my story for the next Furry Historical Fiction Society anthology. I mentioned this back in May I was working on it, and the story is now done and through the editing process. This one is set around 1850 and deals with arctic exploration. One thing I did when I visited Baltimore earlier this year for Fur the ‘More was visit the USS Constellation, a sloop of war built in 1854. That experience helped me work out some of the details for the story since part of it is set on sailing ship. There will be a round robin editing pass we’ll all do, but that’s just for small things, but that is the only work I’ll have to do on the book.

Second, I’ve working on edits for Rites of Hope and I turned over the book to a friend for review on yesterday so I can move the project toward release. I’ve already done a preliminary layout for the chapbook, and while things might change a little before release, I feel I’m close to putting this to bed, and that’s a goal for me this month. The cover art is already done and I need to do the text design and layout for the cover. I still need to write a blurb for the book, which always is a pain in the butt to do. The book will be out at my next con after Megaplex, which hopefully will be Midwest FurFest.

Finally, I got the files back for the audiobook of Scars of the Golden Dancer last week with the final corrections, and I plan to review the minor changes this week. Once that checks out, I’ll move ahead with the release of the the audiobook. Since I’ll be at Megaplex this weekend, I’ll put it up afterward.

I’ll write up a quick promo post tomorrow specifically about Megaplex for the website and to post publicly. I do want to, once I’m back from Megaplex, revise chapter three of Shadows of the Spotted Swordsman and get that up at the end of the month. I’m also hoping to make enough progress on chapter four of the book to share it with my writing group for our next session in September.
