Greetings chroniclers!

This month, we descend into the Xaathuun Depths—an underwater frontier of reef towns, toll lanes, ruined shrines, exposed crossings, and crushing dark, where every route is measured by pressure, distance, and the patience of things that wait below.

Here, settlements cling to old stone, descent lanes wind between safer waters and lawless trenches, and the deeper one travels, the more the world narrows into silence. Trade passes through guarded routes. Salvage crews chase lost cargo through silt and ruin. Priests raise shrines beside quarantine halls. Corsairs mark crossings for ransom. And beneath it all, the fear of Red Sleep spreads through tainted water, corrupted potion pearls, and infected blood.

The Terrors of the Trench Location & Battlemap brings the Xaathuun Depths to your D&D 5E table with regional travel, environmental hazards, factions, notable locations, encounter seeds, and a battlemap ready for dangerous underwater play.

Available to all tiers of $15 and above!

🌊 LOCATION — XAATHUUN DEPTHS

The Xaathuun Depths are a region of pressure, hunger, and contested survival.

Near the safer waters of Saarn Qosh, patrols, cargo crews, and licensed escorts keep the main descent routes alive. Farther below, marked lanes give way to broken guideposts, unstable shelves, brine pools, and predator-haunted crossings. In the lower Crushes, even distance becomes a threat, and those who lose their route may find no landmark but darkness.

The Depths are not empty wilderness. They are a living frontier of trade, fear, ritual, and law—where communities survive by bargain, faction, escort, and force.

⚠️ Dangers of the Xaathuun Depths

The CrushesDepth, pressure, terrain, and current define the region’s vertical descent. The First Crush remains closest to the surface, the Second Crush holds most settlements, the Third Crush is darker and more perilous, and the Fourth Crush lies beyond the last reliable maps.

Deep BreaksCrosscurrents cut across descent lanes, snapping cords, dragging debris, and pulling travelers into sudden danger.

Brine PoolsDense saltwater basins form in hollows, trapping creatures, blinding vision, and threatening to drown those caught within their weight.

Seafire VentsBoiling mineral vents split the stone and erupt without warning, releasing heat, fragments, and unstable bursts beneath the sea.

SiltfallsLoose sediment collapses from shelves and ridges, pouring downward in blinding clouds that can bury movement, sight, and sound.

Red SleepA disease born of the Great Deep Ones, spreading through corrupted potion pearls, infected blood, and tainted fluids. Those who fall ill suffer fever, vivid nightmares, strange voices, and the pull of something vast below.

📍 Notable Locations

Ambercup CrownA reef of seafire vents and ambercup terraces where resin harvests draw wealth, predators, and constant danger.

Brinehook HoldA merrow toll-clan settlement built around brine basins and crossings where passage is bargained, taxed, or denied.

Nhalur Foldwhere the boundary between safer waters and maddening depths grows thin, and travelers report voices near the edge.

Saarn QoshThe Thalurean Queendom’s capital and main descent gate, where cargo, sponsors, escorts, and law all pass through controlled channels.

Whitefang AnchorageThe Ravaskar Corsairs’ headquarters: a pirate port of ransom, tribute, stolen cargo, and frontier violence.

hello. I have a question. If I upgrade to the Archivist rank, do I get access to your previously released products or would it be just for this month and future releases?
