A bit confused with the beginning where Ms. Hong says "but we thought he was living a quiet life in the states" at the 2:11 timestamp. Can somebody explain?

Thank you!

So let me explain When Vincenzo and our girl were investigating the real boss, they got the information that the elder son of babel group is in US. This is like a bluff created by 'can u listen'( the main villain) so nobody can suspect him. And his real name is jung hae seok and he is using the fake name jung jun woo while working in wusan. In a nutshell, Vincenzo got the real name of the boss but they still don't know that intern is the real boss. The reason why he went to US, you guys will find out. I know its confusing, hope that helped

yes sirrrrrrr

The only thing that everyone knew were that there were two brothers, the fake CEO (name is Jang Han Seo) and his brother (name is Jang Han Seok, and he's the real CEO). All they knew about the "other brother", who is the real boss, was that he sent to the US years ago. So, they had no idea that the real boss had come back to Korea. He had obviously been in Korea the whole time as Cha-young's intern, but no one knew bc his identity was secret. This also makes sense if you remember that the real boss often speaks English or says English words, both as his evil self and as his intern self. It's because he was in the US for some time and speaks English.

It’s public knowledge that the big boss had 2 sons While one stayed in Korea( puppet )the other one lived in the us ( real boss) So everyone knows second brother exist they just think he is in la being a musician. People didn’t automatically think the second brother could be the boss because he was studying music so they figured he wants nothing to do with the business.

I like all character in this kdrama all of them are badass, every episode is getting excited. Looking forward next episode

Jang Junwoo, the intern, is the cover identity for the chairman or real boss. So, Vincenzo and Chayoung only knows him as so. His real identity or real name Jang Han Seok (with a k in his name) who is known to the public as the eldest son of his father who was the previous chairman. He was also known that he was living in America so no one questioned where the fake boss's brother was. Anyways, the phone thing too, the real boss closed his phone in his jacket I believe but they did hear it vibrate at first. Samsung phones do that too.

Vincenzo killed those 3 men Death is fast and I guess mercy compared to living through punishment and torture He just didn’t fully tell our girl that because he lied to her by saying he has never killed so he has to maintain that .

lil meow meow

Jang han seok is the real chairman and jang han seo is the younger brother...their names are quite similar that's why y'all confused

han-seok actually got two phones. the one in his jacket was his burner phone and the one he pulled out of his pants was the phone he actually use as jang jun-woo :)

Jang Han Seo is the fake boss, Jang Han Seo(k) is the real boss, but he made up another name for himself (Jang Joon Woo) as the intern he even has two phones (one for each name/self) but his actual name is Jang Han Seok. Vincenzo and Cha young know of his name because of his dad (I think) but don’t know HIM and they think he is (still) living in the states.

What does him having two phones have to do with the phone ringing lol you’re confusing me

>>111183435

At some point you can hear his phone stop vibrating (the one Vincenzo is calling) that’s why I’m saying I’m pretty sure he silenced it when he touched his pocket. Cause the ringing still continued on Vincenzo’s end. I don’t understand why n one is comprehending what I’m saying lmao.

@Syarifah 💯. They showed a flashback from the restaurant, where BABO was with Cha Young before going to Vincenzo. He put his phone back in his coat’s chest pocket. Present scene where Vinenzo is calling him at the tunnel, and said “arent your phone ringing?” he pulled a phone out ,but from his pants pocket. So… Coat pocket - 1st phone Pants pocket - 2nd phone 1st phone is still ringing/vibrating on his chest… but he pulled 2nd phone and showed them no calls. Also, I dont think you can silence a call just by tapping over a thick coat. Plus the vibrating sound is just to show the audience that he receives the call. You don’t really hear a phone’s vibration unless it’s placed on a table or a hard surface or something.

Assistant/Real boss’ name is Jang Han-seok which was mentioned by the killers. While he uses a different name as Cha’s assistant - Joon Woo Killers and Cha Young don’t know his face. All they thought is he lives in the States. So they’re trying to find ‘JANG HAN SEOK’ but they don’t know that it’s her assistant all along. You might get confused cause the brothers’ names are almost same. JANG HAN SEOK - Real boss JANG HAN SEO - Fake boss Jang is the Family name. Han-Seok and Han-Seo are the first names. I hope I did not confuse you even more. 😅

Dami

the guy who is always saying he can fight but never does anything HE CAN FIGHT! and this is not a spoiler because u can kind of infer that he can fight coz when we was going to beat up the new thugs who came, the wife held him back and said 'You promised me you wouldn't do that anymore" which suggests he used to fight dirty before probably.

Dami

Jang han seok is the real name of the 'can you listen guy' he lived in the States which will be explained later on. Everyone thinks han seok is still in the states. He came back to korea with a new name jang joon woo and a new persona as an intern in the law firm. no one knows jang jan seok's face and they believe he is still in the states thats why they were shocked when they heard he was in korea.

Dami

Another reason the can you listen guy does not want to give his brother anything may also be because it is not his real brother. he killed his dad and took the company because his dad cheated on his mum and had his half brother so for his half brother to ask to have a part of the company probably triggers him.

Anah!

The Jang brothers dynamic is that of a domestic violence couple where we have the over controlling manipulative person and the submissive person who is too deep into the relationship that doesn't think can make it on their own without their partner and is also in fear for their life if they try to leave their partner. Usually the only weakness to the controlling person is their submissive partner because they know everything about them and is the closest person to them who they would never doubt would betray them because they are so weak and afraid. Also with the Russian roulette thing I thought it was cool that Vincenzo said about pain we all have a limit but fear their is no limit it can grow and grow so torturing someone through fear can go on forever.

Selli

When you romanize hangul (korean letters) to the english alphabet, there are two types of O's. There are 'o' and 'eo'. If it's spelled just 'o' its pronounced like the O in soon, too and broom. However, if it's 'eo' its pronounced like the O in broke, fork and store. Therefore the name Jang Han-seok is pronounced like 'Jang Han-sock'.

Selli

The fake boss' name is Jang Han-seo while the real boss' name is Jang Han-seok. They're very similar, I know 😭😄

At 43:32 when tobi asked why he was doing the Italian hand gestures it was because he said thank you ma’am in Italian lol

now that i think about it it's kind of fucked up like imagine your dad cheats on your mon and has another kid, and then gives the kid the exact same name as you but removes one letter 💀💀💀

Sal

The hug to check for feelings make me miss Attorney Woo. Beanie guy calling ByeBye balloon Haircut guy Park Saeroyi is a reference to Itaewon Class where the main character had the same haircut. and he called Beanie a North Korean soldier because he acted s on in Crash Landing on You (secret agent An was also in it!). I love those references to other dramas

Sal
>>111228466

i mean makes it easier for cheating man. if the dad called the wrong name or wrote wrong on a gift. just hmm a lil slip of the tongue or slight of hand

Sal

I used to wonder how dude give up Babo so quick too but then realises the immense fear Vincenzo is causing showing he is willing to take the risk pointing the gun at his own head so he is deadly serious about shooting/killing dude lol

Alexis Thompson

Yep, still team bad guy. I love the CEO because in real life he's the goofy intern. So seeing him being able to play this sinister psycho just shows what an amazing actor he is. Also, it really bothers me that they can get the bad guys to talk so easily. Like, the guy they question asked to be killed and can take torture, but couldn't handle Russian Roulette? o.O

Being faced with a possible death is more terrifying than being faced with a direct death psychologically. The more they play the game, the weaker his mind become

Imane ☼

For me there are two parts : the first one before the reveal and the second one. The second is the best for me, I like it more. The CEO is definitely a psycho, he plays it very well.

Orkena

at 2:12 when vincenzo said jang han seok that is the unknown older son of the dead chairman otherwise known as (to us) the evils secret chairman they call him jang han seok as that’s his real name but they didn’t know his face now

Sarah Morgane

I think he’s scared (the fake CEO) bc his brother is impulsive, psychotic and dangerous but also have much more power than him on the paper bc he’s the legitimate heir (his owns the share and the shareholders of babel) so yeah it’s kind of a big move, he literally killed their father in front of him…
