So Ik im a little late but God does it feel so good too have an anti hero story. Like he's not "evil" in the sense of what you would expect from chaos or anything like that, but he definitely is a ruthless bastard. It almost reminds me of blood meridian in some ways if you ever read it

I have similar thoughts about Brunner. Back when i first read it, it was refreshing to see a professional going about his job, without the stereotypical good guy heroics of a standard protagonist. Brunner still comes as ruthless and a bit of an asshole a few times, but for most of the time, he's just shown as what he is, a tough bounty hunter who doesn't suffer fools and always gets his mark.
