Well...something certainly...happened here. And either Kat made a sudden and hasty bailout, or she blurted out the start of what she wanted to say, or... Someone on E6 (and probably elsewhere here, I haven't been keeping track) mentioned in the last part that maybe Kat won't go into the water because of injuries from the accident, and they also pointed out that we've never seen Kat's entire legs (even in the flashback when she was in a wheelchair, it was from behind and too blurry to see clearly), plus there was that focus on her feet in the last picture. Maybe Kat's showing what happened. Like she has bad scarring. Or she straight-up lost one or both feet.
