I just really loved seeing more of Crow's family dynamic and that, even though she isn't always a good mom, she still cares about her children.

I liked both stories. They both expanded on lore and dynamics and HHRHRHRHRNG MOLOTOV HAD J U N E. But the x99 Lives story provided deeper insight to characters that usually are stuck in B plots (Yay Mack got some spotlight!) But each of them ended with cliffhangers that made me want more... But x99 Lives gave a bigger sense of danger with the skull creatures and whatever is happening with Mayapple... Rather than the potential for a crisis with Molotov's kingdom depending if she got shot or not. Either way, lots of end of volume exciting potential and I can't wait!

They were both really good. But I’m a sucker for deep world lore and 99 lives was full of that.

Mirrored Knight

It's really hard to pick, both are so engaging.

Devin McGowan

I rather like the whole family deal in Molotov. And let's not forget the fanfic writers

Doubl

Both were good but my favorite was x99 lives I think. World building, and giving Mack some spotlight was really great ^^

JackOfAllTrades

Its a really tough call, but I pick Molotov because as much as I love the world building done in x99, the character and life backstory with Crow really tipped the scales, and I always want to see more of the villain who fights the status quo.

I like them both a lot, but I think I enjoyed x99 Lives more. The meta concept of exploring how extra lives work in this context we really creative and I genuinely thought Mack and Foxglove had a really great dynamic I'd like to see more of in the future.

Daoist3lives

I preferred 99 lives because it addressed foxgloves psyche rather well and showed what happens in the nefarious universe when another country loses its leader and enters a state of anarchy.

EtriaHero

I love both, but I have to agree with x99 Lives because of the building of foxglove and a more understanding of Mack. Also the dystopia of Kyuutopia was great as we see chaos but also the hanger at the end did leave me questioning.

WierdWebLurker

x99 lives. It gave us a good amount of worldbuilding, a glance at the fate of Kyuutopia, and enough backstory to legit make Mack one of my favorite characters.

Supercharged (CEO of 9-Volt)

They both were great, but 99 lives just etched out Molotov. I love seeing hints that Crow really does just want to have a big happy evil family, a la the Addam’s Family but more evil, with his wife Becky and his evil siblings. However, Mack getting character growth and going from a jaded hero back to someone who genuinely wants to do good and possibly getting a cute rabbit princess GF is also a fun time. That said, I did feel it was a bit cheap to make that poll utterly meaningless in the end, but, what can I say; I like Mack too.

x99 lives, hands down. Molotov was great for building upon Crow's family and giving insight into his character, but the sheer amount of world building done in x99 lives left me with more questions than I had going in, and it just makes me want more. x99 lives left me excited for things to come. Reading that comic was like seeing the various dimensions of the world Nefarious is set in unfold before me. Also, my gorl Mayapple made a long overdue appearance. Yay!

All this poll seems to have done is show how great these stories were, and maybe suggest that having a "Crow antics" story and someone else doing a world building story is a very good plan.

Alexander Shawn Bonnin

I liked Molotov more mostly due to liking Crow over Mack. I also enjoyed seeing more of Crows family.

RetroOnlooker

I’m a fan of Becky and the minion shenanigans.

Cherri Jubilee

Gotta say, I love seeing the peril with mama bird and poor sister bird. Also all the spicy drama between Crow and Becky! But of course I love seeing just about everything from Nefarious!

Chris

I like Molotov more due to the new characters and seeing how they act around crow.

MechanoMorphic

Honestly so hard to pick! I loved 99 Lives bcs it represented what attracted me to nefarious in the first place: real world applications of video game tropes. The explanation was really cool and honestly, I liked it so much! But I picked Molotov, maybe because Mack and Foxglove dont personally interest me as much as seeing more of Crow's family (his mother especially was a delight the whole way though) and I just feel the jokes and characters were stronger in Molotov.

Technowiz7

Molotov, because not only did we get to see Mama Bird herself, but also the way Becky just dived straight down to rescue Crow may suggest that the ship isn't completely sunken. Remember, she can always leave him to die, but we saw her decision in Killjoy.

Alexander J Travassos

My goodness...picking between these two was sooooo hard for me! Like picking between your favorite children. But by a close margin, I had to pick Molotov, mainly because I personally like the dynamic between Crow and his immediate bubble of characters he interacts with, especially between him and Becky. But yeah, this story poll was super close, and both really fun to read. Keep them coming!

Mack's my fave, love seeing more developments for him. :)
