People seem to like it when I point out historical inaccuracy in films. Well, here we go again.I'm not sure I like the tone in my voice in this one. Possibly I should have recorded a second less harsh-sounding narration.

Ugh, sounds like they went about it exactly in the way that pantomime "modern filmmakers" tend to... It's hard to feel like such people actually exist. On the other hand, I kinda feel like it could be interesting if someone did make a movie that was cast with people who didn't fit the "correct" gender or race, but they still played the part as if they did. So an actress playing a character that within the story is indeed male, and the opposite (it's not like crossplaying characters is a new thing, took a while before British theater allowed female actresses to play any role, and all female theater troupes can play men just fine too), and same for skin color etc. (kind of like how Dave Chappelle's news anchor character was white within the context of the show). As long as it's not done to make fun of anyone, is fair (I fear many wouldn't dare put a white actor in a black role, for example) and the actual performances are good, I don't really see it as that different to having a young actor play an older character (Ian McDiarmid was 38 when he was cast to play Emperor Palpatine) or the opposite (there's a plethora, but for example Leonardo DiCaprio was almost 50 when he played Ernest Burkhart, a 27 year old in Killers of The Flower Moon). Might be harder to make it anything other than at least a partial comedy though...
