Work in Progress Diary #14 Character Nomination & Game (Patreon)
Content
I am writing this post to inform you of a small change regarding the Character Poll nominations and the development of the game.
NOMINATION
I have been wanting to make these changes for some time now, and given the recent problems, I have decided to go ahead with them.
Now all Lo*i and Sho*a characters are banned, with some exceptions. It's not something I want to do, but Patreon's rules are very restrictive, and I've been playing with fire for quite some time now.
Not all characters in this category are banned. Characters from normal anime and manga are, I think (and hope), safe, at least as long as they are not too childish. Even characters who are not too childlike in body type should be safe. So, anyone who wants to nominate a character belonging to these categories should first write to me privately to confirm that the character is safe.
I noticed that some of you nominate characters with a very old anime style or even characters that are not in the anime style. Unfortunately, these characters not only don't fit my style and I can't create them the way I would like to, but they also take much longer to make than other characters, since Koikatsu is not designed for characters like that.
There are certainly other creators who are more skilled and would be able to make them, but given my current abilities and the time available, the final result would not be very good.
So you can still nominate all characters of this type, but I cannot guarantee their quality.
For all characters in these categories who already have Extra Points, I can allow you to replace them with others while retaining the Points.
GAME
The game's development is going a bit slowly. Creating the characters took me longer than I hoped, and I also spent a week experimenting.
I attempted to transfer everything I had done in RPG Maker to Ren'Py and create a visual novel. As you know, I don't know how to program, so I got help from ChatGPT, with good results.
In the end, the experiment failed. I wasn't able to create certain things, and I also realized that I would have created something much less polished than RPG Maker.
In my opinion, it was an experiment that needed to be done, but obviously, it wasted my time.
This month, I should start working on RPG Maker again, and I hope to publish something by mid-2026, or even sooner.
