Hi adventurers,

The Kingdom of Hiltshire is a castle city with 3 rings of buildings and a sword-shaped castle at its centre, resembling the sword in the stone that Baltad left in the Enchanted Forest.

And it's about time we mapped it!

Here's how to leave your mark on the city:

If you'd like to be in Section 1, choose one of the houses pictured (A1-14, B1-13, C1-14, D1-14) - first in, first served

Tell me if it's a Home or a Shop!Tell me who lives there (Legendary heroes are fine, but let's keep it in the scope of people who would actually live in Hiltshire. No giant monsters or time-travelling robots or Kings of other Kingdoms.)If its a Shop, what's the name of the shop? What does it sell? (Let's keep that swordy too!)

It will be tracked from here

And that's it! Let's build a city!

D14, please! A residential home; a small cottage originally from the village that was here before the walls expanded enough to absorb it into the city. Still haunted by it's original owner, Karl-Heinz Sheath. They say if you help with a small task in maintaining/cleaning the cottage, you get to rest there for free and get access to KH's extensive board-game collection.

B12, please. A so-called alchemist/doctor runs his practice there, but he’s seemingly remarkably bad at his job. All of his remedies revolve around eating or burning random herbs and diffusing scented oils and collecting rocks with oddly specific auras, and he frequently claims to have found new cure-alls. He calls himself Slick (as a joke on account of all the oils he peddles, if you ask him), and his pharmacy/practice is called What Oils You (as a pun on What Ails You). In my head he’s a snake man, but there aren’t any snake men that I recall in the setting, so he can be either a human or an elf 👀

A14. Quan's Noodle Emporium (it's sort of a public house, but it only serves noodles and drinks from Katana) run by Quan and his family. Quan is a stooped old man with a swordcane from Katana and sells noodles and noodle dishes from the home country to everyone who comes or goes through the main gate (or he tries). He insists of course that everyone eat them using CHOP-sticks (the only proper way to eat jainmein, sword-noodles), which of course almost no one knows how to do.

Hen

D13. Toy shop! Sword shaped kites, stabbing blocks (stacking blocks), rapier bears, moldable claymore-doh, and more. Run by a sentient Rapier Bear that was animated by accident when it was given an actual magic rapier. His name is Sir Stabbington and he wears a red bucket hat that he hides orange marmablade sandwiches under

Death From the Ankles Down

D10 please. It's a a home of the sword wielding bounty hunting dog Lafrida(also known as Death from the ankles down) and her handler mage, named blue eyes(who is an ice mage). This place is more of a vacation home for when they're not traveling and hunting for bounties. This character is not my idea but from another web comic I read call wanted dead or dead. 😁

A7 please. Shop run by Gladius Maximus, the former gladiator. It's called "Fabulous Fashionable Footwear." He sells all sorts of weapons and armor to use in the Swornament. He focuses on Boots, Greaves, Shoes, and other footwear because he believes that you need good footing in a fight. (Feel free to change the name, I'm not attached to it).

Sometimes they hire a crow, to cover surveilance for their client's cases.

Tables are shaped like Sword Hilts with a round Crossguard The legs of the Chairs are 4 swords with the seat being a big flat oval pummel. The Beds are shaped like a thick Greatsword. (Think Clouds sword or Marais Executioner from Elden Ring) Every drink regardless of what you order is served with a tiny sword umbrella. Food is served with a knife and 3 tiny swords stuck to the same hilt instead of a fork. Even the candles lighting up the rooms is shaped like swords, with the hilt being the candle holder and the candle being the blade part.

B7: a home of Hatick Hendemier, a human smiths apprentice. He has talent for both smithing and swordfighting, but he prefers to create weapons. He only tests them on dummies since he doesn’t like violence. He really enjoys his work and wants to start his own smithy or take over his masters smithy. He still has much to learn before he is ready for that tough. He has a collection of some of the swords he created, all displayed in his house. His house is a mess because he spends most of his time at work, only the display cases are clean and taken care of.

C12 please, Would be a tavern named The Empty Sheath. Proprietor is an older woman named Olive. A empty sheath hangs above the bar. It looks well worn as if it has seen many battles and adventures, but Olive won't talk about it.

Jekotia

For any location: A haggard (and delusional) old gnome that runs a sword museum, but doesn't believe swords are real and is infact a charlatan peddling fake swords. Nothing in the museum is real, and he believes the residents of Hiltshire to be the most gullible fools to ever live.
